TUESDAY MORNING.

PRAISED be the Lord daily, the God who helpeth us, and poureth his benefits upon us. He is our God, even the God of whom cometh our salvation. God is the Lord by whom we escape death.

The Lord is my portion, therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. His mercy endureth for ever: there is no end to his loving-kindness and truth. O give thanks unto the Lord always, and be talking of his praise and wondrous works. Let your songs be of him, and praise him, and think on his commandments to do them; who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began; who hath abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

Remember not, Lord, our offences, neither take thou vengeance of our sins; spare us, good Lord; spare thy people, whom thou hast redeemed with thy most precious blood, and be not angry with us for ever. In all time of our tribulation, in all time of our wealth, in the hour of death, and in the day of judgment, good Lord, deliver us; and may it please thee to give us true repentance, to forgive us all our sins, negligences, and ignorances, and to endue us with thy Holy Spirit, to amend our lives according to thy holy word. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

COLLECT.

Lord of all power and might, who art the author and giver of all good things; graft in our hearts the love of thy name, increase in us true religion, nourish us with all goodness, and of thy great mercy keep us in the same, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR A HUMBLE MIND.

O Lord, whose mercy is over all thy works, send thy Holy Spirit into our hearts, to guide and direct us in all things, that in every circumstance of our lives we may be blessed and upheld by thy heavenly favour and protection.

Endue us with a right understanding in all things, and a truly humble mind. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom: make us wise unto salvation, averse to all that is evil, and entirely disposed to every thing that is good, having always before us the blessed example of our Lord and Saviour, who went about doing good to the bodies and souls of men; to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost, be honour and glory and praise, for ever and ever. Amen.

of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

TUESDAY EVENING.

LET us give thanks to the Lord our God, whose mercy endureth for ever. While we live, let us praise the Lord; yea, as long as we have any being, let us sing praises to our God.

It is of the Lord's goodness that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

The Lord is our light and our salvation; whom then shall we fear? the Lord is the strength of our life; of whom shall we be afraid? For in time of trouble he shall hide us in his tabernacle; in the secret place of his dwelling shall he hide us, and set us upon a rock of stone. The fear of the Lord is honour, and glory, and gladness, and a crown of rejoicing.

The fear of the Lord maketh a merry heart, and giveth joy, and gladness, and a long life.

Whoso feareth the Lord, it shall go well with him at the last, and he shall find favour at the day of his death. Glory be to the Father, &c.

COLLECT.

Almighty God, we beseech thee graciously to behold this thy family, for which our Lord Jesus Christ was contented to be betrayed, and given up into the hands of wicked men, and to suffer death upon the cross, who now liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.

Then shall all repeat

Amen.

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

COLLECT.

O God, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works do proceed, give unto us thy servants that peace which the world cannot give, that both our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also that by thee, we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest and quietness through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

PRAYER FOR GRACE.

The grace of God, that bringeth salvation, hath appeared unto all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world, looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ; wherefore we earnestly beseech thee, O Lord, to shed abundantly this grace into all our hearts and minds, that we may be wholly directed by thy Holy Spirit, and may fulfil every duty of our station with energy and godly zeal, having regard to all thy commandments, and serving thee henceforth in newness of life and with heartfelt devotion, through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

WEDNESDAY MORNING.

ALL wisdom cometh from the Lord, and is with him for

ever.

To fear the Lord is fulness of wisdom, and filleth men with her fruits. She filleth all their houses with things desirable, and the garners with her increase.

The fear of the Lord is a crown of wisdom, making peace and perfect health to flourish, both which are the gifts of God; and it enlargeth their rejoicing that love him. Wisdom raineth down skill and knowledge of understanding, and exalteth them to honour that hold her fast.

For

The root of wisdom is to fear the Lord, and the branches thereof are long life. If thou desire wisdom, keep the commandments, and the Lord shall give her unto thee. the fear of the Lord is wisdom and instruction, and faith and meekness are his delight,

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

We acknowledge our own wretchedness, O Lord, before thee, and call to mind thy great and unbounded goodness; for all that we have is thine, and we are the creatures of thy bounty; wherefore we pray thee humbly to put away our sins from before thee, and not to cast us away from thy presence; for thou hast provided a glorious redemption for all that trust in thy name, by Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.
