PRAYER FOR HUMILITY AND FAITH.

GRANT unto us thy servants, O Lord, humble and contrite hearts, that we may come before thee in thy holy temple, and worship thee this day in spirit and in truth.

Open thou our lips, O Lord, that our mouth and tongue may show forth thy praise. We bless thee, O Lord, for thine unspeakable mercy in giving thine only beloved Son to be an atonement for our sins, and to open to us the gates of everlasting life.

Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. O Lord, renew our faith in his allsufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world; and make us steadfast, immoveable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord, to thy honour and glory, and to our own everlasting salvation. Amen.

COLLECT.

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified, receive our supplications and prayers, which we offer before thee, for all estates of men in thy holy Church; that every member of the same in his vocation and ministry may truly and godly serve thee, through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

SUNDAY EVENING.

GIVE glory to the Lord your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and while ye look for light, he turneth it into gross darkness and the shadow of death.

Thus saith the Lord, Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his aim, and whose heart departeth from the Lord; for he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not cease from yielding fruit: let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

O Lord of heaven and earth, accept the prayers and praises of the Church, which have this day been humbly offered up to thy Divine Majesty, and pardon the offences of thy people. For the sake of thy blessed Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, put away our sins, and bless us with thy heavenly favour, now and evermore. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

PRAYER FOR ALL MANKIND.

O Lord, who by thy holy apostle hath taught us to make prayers and supplications for all men, shew mercy upon all mankind; let the gospel of thy blessed Son be spread abroad throughout all the earth, turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just.

Especially we pray for thy favor and goodness on this nation in which we live: multiply thy blessings upon our Sovereign Queen, and all the Royal Family, and shed abundant grace on the ministers and stewards of thy mysteries; visit in mercy and pity all that are afflicted in mind, body, or estate, giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their troubles; bless and preserve all our relations and friends, and keep us all this night, and evermore, under the protection of thy good providence, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE MANIFOLD GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT.

Strengthen us, we beseech thee, O Lord, with the Holy Ghost the comforter, and daily increase in us thy manifold gifts of grace, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and true godliness; and fill us, O Lord, with the spirit of thy holy fear now and for ever. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

MONDAY MORNING.

WHO is among you that feareth the Lord, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and stay upon his God.

I will mention the loving kindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us.

Thou, O Lord, art our Father, our Redeemer, thy name is from everlasting. Cease ye from man whose breath is in his nostrils, for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Blessed is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is; who keepeth his promise for ever, who helpeth them to right that suffer wrong, who feedeth the hungry. The Lord looseth men out of prison, the Lord giveth sight to the blind, the Lord raiseth up them that are fallen, the Lord careth for the righteous, the Lord careth for the stranger, he defendeth the fatherless and the widow, but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS.

The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, give unto us the spirit of true repentance, and holiness of life, forgiving us those things whereof our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things we are not worthy to ask, but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

PRAYER FOR ALL CONDITIONS.

O Almighty and most merciful Father, who hast promised that where two or three are gathered together in thy name thou wilt be in the midst of them, hear our prayers, which we offer up unto thee for ourselves and for all sorts and conditions of men;

That it may please thee to bless and prosper us in all our undertakings, whether for the benefit of ourselves or others, and make us humble instruments in thy hands, of good to all over whom we have any influence.

That it may please thee to comfort and relieve all those, who in this transitory life are in sickness or adversity, giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR HEAVENLY WISDOM.

Grant, O Lord, that the daily spectacles of mortality, which we see, may incline us seriously to consider how frail and uncertain our own condition is, and teach us so to number our days, that we may constantly apply our hearts to that holy and heavenly wisdom, while we live here, which will in the end bring us to life everlasting, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.
