PRAYER FOR HOLY LIVING.

O Lord God, who art to be feared in all the generations of the world, let thy light arise on the darkness of our understanding, teach us to guide our words with discretion, make us never to be moved from our purposes of holy living, that we may serve thee in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

COLLECT.

Most gracious and merciful Saviour, who with thine own right hand and with thy holy arm hath gotten the victory over sin, hell, and the grave, remember us, we earnestly beseech thee, that we may be partakers of this great salvation; give us pardon of our sins, sealed unto us by the testimony of thy Holy Spirit and of a good conscience; and grant that by thy strength we may have power to overcome all our ghostly enemies, that we may rejoice and give thanks with a holy peace and tranquillity of mind; extend this mercy to all mankind, that all the ends of the earth may see the salvation of God, and, when thou comest to judge the earth in righteousness, may be joyful together before thee, in the felicity of a blessed eternity; through thee, O blessed Saviour and Redeemer. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

SATURDAY MORNING.

Be mindful of the Lord thy God all thy days, and let not thy will be set to sin, or to transgress his commandments. Do uprightly all thy life long, and follow not the ways of unrighteousness.

For if thou deal truly, thy doings shall prosperously succeed to thee, and to all them that live justly.

Keep thou the law and the commandments, and show thyself merciful and just, that it may go well with thee.

Rejoice in the Lord thy God, and lay hold on everlasting salvation by Jesus Christ.

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and verily thou shalt be saved.

Blessed be God that liveth for ever and ever, and blessed be his kingdom.

Whose glory and majesty is everlasting; whose mercy endureth for ever.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, we do earnestly lament that we have so often transgressed against thee, disregarded the precepts of our Lord and Saviour, and omitted to follow his blessed example. Forgive us all that is past, and strengthen us by thy Holy Spirit, that we may have faith and courage to take up our cross daily, and follow after him who died for us, and finally attain to everlasting salvation; through the same, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

PRAYER FOR GRACE.

The Lord, the righteous God, hath called us, from the rising up of the sun to the going down of the same.

Incline all our hearts, O Lord, by thy holy and heavenly grace, to keep thy commandments, and to love thy name; O Lord, let thy mercy lighten upon us, and upon all our friends and relations, this day, and make us kind and affectionate one to another, sincere and upright in all our dealings, diligent in our proper work, rejoicing in the Lord always, and in every opportunity of doing good, having compassion on the poor and needy, given to hospitality and kindness, and fruitful in every good word and work; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

COLLECT.

Almighty and everlasting God, who dost govern all things in heaven and earth; mercifully hear the supplications of thy people, and grant us thy peace all the days of our life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

SATURDAY EVENING.

GOD shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again unto the Lord.

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness, by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall be raised first.

But who may abide the day of his coming; and who shall stand, when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire.

Judge therefore yourselves brethren, that ye be not judged of the Lord, and strive after holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

O Lord, in whose sight we are all sinners and unprofitable servants, and exposed to thy just condemnation, yet though our offences have abounded, thy grace has still more abounded through Jesus Christ, forgive our sins, negligences, and ignorances, and raise us up from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan, to thee our God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

COLLECT.

Almighty and everlasting God, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth thy right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER AND PRAISE.

Thou, Lord, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, hast been gracious to us, and hast again preserved us all the week that is now past and gone; therefore do we look up unto thee, and praise thy holy name: our health and strength we will ascribe to thee, from whom cometh every blessing: thou art the God of our refuge, thou showest us thy goodness plenteously; for thy mercies are unspeakable, and ever more and more towards them that fear thee. Lighten our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord, and by thy great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night, for the love of thy only Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.
