SUNDAY MORNING.

WHAT will you do in the solemn day, in the day of the feast of the Lord?

Hallow my Sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.

Break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquity by showing mercy to the poor.

Obey the voice of the Lord, and he will be your God, and ye shall be his people, and walk in all the ways that he hath commanded you, that it may be well with you.

Give thanks to the Lord your God, who hath brought you out of darkness into light; give glory to his name for ever, by whom ye have redemption to eternal life. Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. And seek those things that are above, where Jesus sitteth at the right hand of God. Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

We beseech thee, O Lord, look upon us thy servants, and forgive all the iniquities and transgressions we have from time to time committed against thy divine Majesty in thought, word, or deed: pardon our great unfruitfulness hitherto, under all the means of grace we have enjoyed, and assist us, we humbly beseech thee, in the great duties we have this day to perform, that our prayers and praises may come before thee as incense, and the lifting up of our hands be as a morning sacrifice acceptable in thy sight, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

COLLECT.

O Lord, we beseech thee to keep thy Church and household continually in thy true religion, that they who do lean only upon the hope of thy heavenly grace, may evermore be defended by thy mighty power, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE DUE OBSERVANCE OF THE

SABBATH.

Give thy grace unto us thy servants this day, O Lord, to keep the Sabbath holy, not doing our own will, nor walking in our own ways, nor after our own pleasure in any thing that is contrary to thy holy Commandments.

We will go into thine house in the multitude of thy mercy, and in thy fear will we worship in thy holy temple. Iniquities prevail against us, but thou, O Lord, shall put away our transgressions. We will think of thy lovingkindness, in the midst of thy temple: open thou our lips, O Lord, and our mouth shall show forth thy praise. May this holy day, set apart and sanctified by thee, be a Sabbath of blessing throughout all the world, and hasten that glorious day when it shall be said, Lo, this is our God, we have waited for him, and he will save us; this is the Lord, we have waited for him; we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

SUNDAY EVENING.

BLESSED be the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever, for wisdom and might are his.

And he giveth wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.

God is our hope and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved. The Lord of Hosts is with us, the God of Jacob is our refuge.

For the Lord is high, and to be feared; he is the great King upon all the earth.

We wait for thy loving-kindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

O God, according to thy name, so is thy praise unto the world's end: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

O sing praises, sing praises unto our God; sing praises, sing praises unto our King.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR PARDON.

Have mercy upon us, O God, after thy great goodness; according to the multitude of thy mercies, do away our offences, wash us throughly from our wickedness, and cleanse us from our sins, for we acknowledge our faults, and our sin is ever before us: turn thy face from our sins, and put out all our misdeeds; make us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us; give us the comfort of thy help again, and stablish us with thy free spirit, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

COLLECT.

Blessed Lord, who hast caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning, grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of thy holy word we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life which thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

THANKSGIVING.

We thank thee, O gracious Father, for the blessings which we have received from thee this day, for our food and raiment, and all thy other mercies, and benefits spiritual and temporal. We acknowledge that we are altogether unworthy of thy goodness towards us; but above all we are thankful for thy love made known to us by the Gospel of thy dear Son, for the means of grace, and the hope of glory. Lord, renew in us whatever has been decayed by the fraud and malice of the Devil, or by our own carnal will and frailty, and may we henceforth never fear to acknowledge our design to live unto thee; may we be ashamed of sin, and of nothing else; may we never be ashamed to confess the faith of Christ crucified, but manfully to fight under his banner, against sin, the world, and the Devil, and to continue his faithful soldiers and servants unto death. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

MONDAY MORNING.

THE Lord is a God of mercy, long-suffering, and of great goodness. His power standeth not in multitude, nor his might in strong men; for God is a God of the afflicted, an helper of the oppressed, an upholder of the weak, a protector of the forlorn, a Saviour of them that are without hope.

Lord, thou art God alone, the God of all power and might, and there is none other that protecteth thy people that trust in thee.

Righteousness and equity are the habitation of thy seat, mercy and truth shall go before thy face, glory and worship are before him, power and honour are in his sanctuary.

O Lord God of hosts, who is like unto thee? Thy truth, most mighty Lord, is on every side.

Thou art great, and doest wondrous things. Thou art God alone.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

COLLECT.

O God, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, increase and multiply upon us thy mercy, that thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal: grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ's sake, our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.
