ACT OF OBLATION.

Most holy and eternal God, Lord and Sovereign of all thy creatures, we humbly present to thy divine Majesty ourselves, our souls and our bodies, our thoughts and our words, our actions and intentions, to be disposed of by thee to thy glory, to be blessed by thy good providence, to be guided by thy Spirit. This day, O Lord, and all the days of our life, we dedicate to thy honour and service. Keep us, O Lord, in body and soul, that the enemy may not prevail against us, but that we may ever hold fast to thy Almighty arm, and be more than conquerors through Christ our Lord, who overcame death for us, and ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father, to make intercession for us and for all his faithful followers, to the end that we may obtain everlasting life to the praise and glory of his name. Amen.

PRAYER.

Show us thy ways, O Lord, teach us thy paths, lead us in thy truth; for thou art the God of our salvation. Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day without sin. O Lord, have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, let thy mercy lighten upon us, as our trust is in thee. O Lord, in thee have we trusted, let us never be confounded.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, &c.

SATURDAY EVENING.

LET all the earth fear the Lord.

Stand in awe of him, all ye that dwell in the world, high and low, rich and poor, one with another.

Bless ye the Lord with your whole heart, with the voice of praise and thanksgiving declare his goodness and mercy.

It is the Lord that ruleth the sea, the voice of the Lord is mighty in operation, the voice of the Lord is a glorious voice.

He is the Father of the fatherless, and defendeth the cause of the widow, even God in his holy habitation.

He is the God that maketh men to be of one mind in an house, he ruleth with his power for ever.

O God of our salvation, thou that art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of them that remain in the broad sea, to thee be all the praise for ever and ever.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

COLLECT.

Grant, O Lord, that as we are baptized into the death of thy blessed Son our Saviour Jesus Christ, so by continual mortifying our corrupt affections we may be buried with him, and that through the grave and gate of death we may pass to our joyful resurrection, for his merits; who died and was buried and rose again for us, thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

PRAYER FOR GOD'S BLESSING.

Bless us, O Lord, in our daily calling and employment to such purposes as thou shalt choose for us; relieve us in all sadnesses, give us patience in our sorrows, and grace to call upon thee in all temptations; be thou our guide in all our actions, our protector in all dangers: give unto us health of body, a clear understanding, a sanctified, humble, and contented spirit: let not our life be miserable and wretched, nor our name be stained with sin and shame; but let our condition be blessed and our conversation useful to our neighbours, and pleasing to thee; that when our bodies lie down in the dust, our souls may pass into the regions of light, and live for evermore with thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

COLLECT.

O God, the strength of all them that put their trust in thee, mercifully accept our prayers; and because through the weakness of our mortal nature we can do no good thing without thee, grant us the help of thy grace, that in keeping thy commandments we may please thee both in will and deed, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

SUNDAY MORNING.

REMEMBER the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

For I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of ungodliness.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and receivest unto thee; he shall dwell in thy court, and shall be satisfied with the pleasures of thy house, even of thy holy temple. We will worship towards thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy name and thy word above all things. Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR SUCCOUR.

We come before thee, O Lord our God, this day, deeply abased by reason of our sins. To whom can we flee for succour against the evil that dwelleth in us, but to thee, O God? Hear us, we pray thee, now in an acceptable time, and cast us not away from thy presence; but grant that we may henceforth obey thy voice, and be thy people, and walk in all the ways thou hast commanded us, that it may be well with us for ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

PRAYER FOR THE DUE OBSERVANCE OF THE

SABBATH.

Most blessed and holy God, who in pity for our weakness hast been pleased to set apart one day in seven for thy more solemn service, to recal us from worldly vanities to the higher concerns of our immortal souls, make us evermore to call the Sabbath a delight, to keep it holy, and to dedicate it to the religious ends and exercises for which it was appointed, that by the assistance of thy heavenly grace we may serve thee acceptably with godly fear, that we may pray unto thee with sincere and fervent devotion, that we may worship thee in spirit and in truth, and praise thee and give thee thanks from the ground of our hearts, in public and in private, openly in thy holy Church and in secret, lifting up our hearts and hands to thee, the living and glorious God, in the name of our blessed and only Saviour thy Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

COLLECT.

Grant, O Lord, we beseech thee, that the course of this world may be so peaceably ordered by thy governance, that thy Church may joyfully serve thee in all godly quietness, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
