SUNDAY EVENING.

THE Lord direct our hearts into the love of God and into the patient waiting for Christ our Saviour.

There is no name under heaven whereby we can be saved, but only the name of the Lord Jesus; and every soul which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people.

God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of Jesus Christ. I desire to know nothing but Jesus Christ, and him crucified; for to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus Christ, that none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself; for whether we live, we live unto the Lord, or whether we die, we die unto the Lord; whether we live therefore or die, we are the Lord's ;

Who will change this vile body, and make it like unto his glorious body, according to the mighty working whereby he is able to subdue all things to himself. Glory be to the Father, &c.

THANKSGIVING.

We are bound to give thanks to God always, because God hath from the beginning chosen us to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth, whereunto he hath called us by the gospel, to the obtaining the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

Our Father, which art in heaven, &c.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who by thy cross and passion hast given us boldness to come into

the presence of a holy God by thy precious blood, and hast consecrated a new and living way through the vail of thy flesh, help our unbelief, increase our faith, enable us to lay hold on eternal life. Fix it deeply in our hearts, that without thee and the offering made by thee for the sins of the whole world, we must all have inevitably perished; but by believing in thee, we are passed from death unto life, in dying unto sin, and rising again unto righteousness; and being delivered from the condemnation of the law, we are justified by thy free grace. Lord, sanctify us, that we may live to thy honour and glory, and be more and more prepared for that rest which remaineth for the people of God, not trusting in any thing that we can do for ourselves, but in that salvation only which is by thee alone, who art the Saviour of the world, and to whom, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, be for ever ascribed all majesty and power, and honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

COLLECT.

Preserve us, O Lord, this night, that we sleep not in sin or death eternal: but whether we sleep or wake, live or die, let us omit no opportunity of serving thee; that when the work of our life is done, we may rest in the bosom of our Lord; grant this for the glory of thy name, blessed Saviour and Redeemer. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

MONDAY MORNING.

REJOICE in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice.
Let your moderation be known unto all men.

The Lord is at hand; be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION.

Remember us, O Lord, according to the favour that thou bearest unto thy people. O, visit us with thy salvation; deliver us, O Lord our God, out of all trouble, that we may rejoice before thee, and give thanks to thy holy name for ever and ever. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

Our Father, which art in heaven, &c.

PRAYER AGAINST TEMPTATION AND A CARELESS SPIRIT.

For thy great and unspeakable goodness, O Lord our God, in preserving us safely during the past night, and for all other thy graces and blessings, we offer up ourselves, our souls and bodies, and all that we have, as a sacrifice to thee and thy service; humbly beseeching thee to pardon all our sins, to defend us from all evil, to lead us into all good: teach us to keep a strict watch over all our ways, that we may not be surprised by any sudden temptation or a careless spirit, or fall away into a state of folly or vanity: keep thou the door of our lips, that we offend not with our tongue; make us to delight in thee, and to rejoice in the light of thy countenance, to be humble-minded and charitable towards all men, evermore seeking after the kingdom of heaven, and its righteousness, through the Lord, the blessed Saviour of the world, Jesus Christ the righteous. Amen.

COLLECT.

Grant to us, Lord, we beseech thee, the spirit to think and do such things as be rightful, that we, who cannot do any thing that is good without thee, may by thee be enabled to live according to thy will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BENEDICTORY PRAYER.

MONDAY EVENING.

HEAR ye the word of the Lord.

It shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and do all his commandments, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.

And all these blessings shall come upon thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field; blessed shall be thy basket and thy store; blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses and in all thou settest thy hand unto.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

PRAYER FOR GOD'S GRACIOUS HELP.

Most merciful Father, who knowest our weakness and infirmities, and that we can do nothing that is good without thy gracious help and favour; subdue in us every evil and sinful inclination, and so dispose and turn our hearts to the fulfilment of all thy commandments, that we may effectually obtain thy blessed promises, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall all repeat

THE LORD'S PRAYER.
