3 Thou in the days of feeble flesh 4 Then will our humble faith address FATHER, hear the blood of Jesus, 2 O receive us to thy favour, 3 To thy pardoning grace receive them; 4 Still our Advocate in heaven, Prays the prayer on earth begun: 212 DOMINION AND GLORY. C. M. "TIS past the dark and dreary night, And, Lord, we hail thee now, Our Morning Star, without a cloud 2 Thy path on earth, the cross, the grave, Thy sorrows all are o'er; And O! sweet thought! thy eye shall weep, Thy heart shall break no more. 3 Deep were those sorrows-deeper still The love that brought thee low; That bade the streams of life from thee, A willing victim, flow. 4 The soldier, as he pierced thee, proved Man's hatred, Lord, to thee; While in the blood that stained the spear, Love, only love, we see. 5 Drawn from thy pierced and bleeding side, That pure and cleansing flood, Speaks peace to every heart that knows The virtues of thy blood. 6 Yet, 'tis not that we know the joy But, happier, far, thy saints are called RULER of the hosts of light! Death hath yielded to thy might; And thy blood hath marked a road, Leading to thine own abode. 2 From thy dwelling-place above, From thy Father's throne of love, Still remember, Saviour kind! 4 Praise the Son, enthroned on high And the Holy Ghost adore, ENTHRONED is Jesus now The kingly crown is on his brow, 2 In shining white they stand, 3 They sing the Lamb of God, The Lamb, through whose atoning blood Each wears his diadem. 4 Thy grace, O Holy Ghost, Thy blessed help supply, That we may join that radiant host, EXALTED Prince of life, we own 'Tis fixed by God's almighty hand, And seraphs bow at thy command. 2 Exalted Saviour, we confess The sovereign triumphs of thy grace, 3 Wide thy resistless sceptre sway, Wide may thy cross its virtue prove, And conquer millions by thy love. 4 Mighty to vanquish and forgive, Thy ransom'd shall repent and live; And loud proclaim thy healing breath, Which gives them life who wrought thy death. 216 C. M. THOU, who on earth as man wast known, Bearing our sins and pain, Now, seated on the eternal throne, 2 Thy hands the wheels of nature guide With an unerring skill; And countless worlds, extended wide, 3 While harps unnumbered sound thy praise, In yonder world above, The saints on earth admire thy ways, 4 When troubles, like a burning sun, To their almighty Rock they run, 5 How glorious thou, how happy they, In such a glorious friend! Whose love secures them all the way, And crowns them at the end. CHRIST, above all glory seated! 2 Thou art gone, where now is given, 4 We, O Lord! with hearts adoring, Hear our prayers thy grace imploring, 5 So when thou again in glory On the clouds of heaven shalt shine, We thy flock may stand before thee, Owned for evermore as thine. |
