22 HARK! the herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born King,
2 Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
3 Christ, by highest heaven adored,
Christ, the everlasting Lord, -
4 Veiled in flesh the Godhead see ;
Hail the incarnate Deity,
5 Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace;
Hail the Sun of Righteousness;
6 Lo! He lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die;
23 IN heav'n the rapturous song began,
And sweet seraphic fire
And swept each sounding lyre.
To each angelic tongue :
And loud the echo rung.
The pealing anthem ran;
To bear the news to man. 4 Hark! through the heaven is heard their shout,
Glory to God” the song ;
Of all the heavenly throng.
Glory to God on high!
Jesus is born to die."
Redeemer! Brother! Friend!
Thy praise shall never end,
24 SONGS of praise the angels sang,
Heaven with Hallelujahs rang,
2 Songs of praise awoke the morn,
When the Prince of Peace was born ;
Captive led captivity.
Songs of praise will crown that day :
Songs of praise shall hail their birth. 4 Saints below, with heart and voice,
Still in songs of praise rejoice;
Songs of praise to sing above. 5 Borne upon the latest breath,
Songs of praise shall conquer death ;
25 HIGH let us swell our tuneful notes ;
And join th' angelic throng ;
To wake a cheerful song.

Sov'reign Father of mankind !
In Thy courts admission find.
In Thy Church obtain a place,
Praise Thy truth, adore Thy grace. 2 Once far off, but now invited,
We approach Thy sacred throne,
Reconcil'd, redeem'd, made one.
See the star of mercy shine,
Mystery great of love Divine. 3 Hail, Thou universal Saviour !
Gentiles now their off"rings bring,
Jesus Christ, our Lord and King:
Live devoted to Thy praise,
Grateful anthems ever raise !
27 SONS of men, behold from far,
Hail the long-expected star!
2 Mild it shines on all beneath,
Piercing through the shades of death,
Kindling darkness into light. 3 Nations all, far off and near, Haste to see your

Meet Him manifested there.
God descends to dwell with men,
28 SING to the Lord in joyful strains,
His glorious praise resound,
And fill the isles around. 2 O City of the Lord, begin
The universal song,
The cheerful notes prolong. 3 Let the rude wilderness afar
Lift up its lonely voice ;
And in its light rejoice. 4 Let ev'ry land, and tribe, and tongue,
Jehovah's glory raise ;
