And Jesus seeing their faith, said to the man sick of the palsy: Son, be of good heart, thy sins are forgiven thee. And behold some of the Scribes said within themselves: This man speaketh blasphemy. And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts? Which is easier to say: Thy sins are forgiven thee: or to say, Arise, and walk? But that you may know that the Son of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins, then saith he to the man sick of the palsy: Arise, take up thy bed, and go home. And he arose, and went home. And the multitude seeing this were afraid : and they glorified God, who had given such power to men. CREDO.

OFFERT. Exod. xxiv. Moses consecrated an altar to the Lord offering whole burnt-offerings thereon, and slaying victims: he made an evening sacrifice for a sweet odour to the Lord God in the sight of the children of Israel.

Sanctificavit Moyses altare Domino offerens super illud holocausta, & immolans victimas: fecit sacrificium vespertinum in odorem suavitatis Domino Deo, in conspectu filiorum Israel.

SECRET. O God, who by the participation of this august sacrifice makest us partakers of the one supreme divine nature: grant, we beseech thee, that as we know thy truth, so we may show it by a worthy conduct of life. Thro'.

vited to the marriage, and they would not come. Again
he sent other servants, saying: Say to them that were in-
vited Behold I have prepared my dinner; my beeves
and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready; come to
the marriage. But they regarded not: and they went
away, one to his farm, and another to his traffic. And
the rest laid hands on his servants, and having spightfully
treated them, they murdered them. But when the King
heard of it, he was angry; and sending his army, he de-
stroyed those murderers, and burnt their city. Then he
saith to his servants. The wedding-dinner indeed is ready :
but they who were invited, were not worthy. Go ye
