INDEX TO THE PSALMS.

ALMIGHTY Maker of my frame

Father! I bless Thy gentle hand
From all who dwell below the skies
From lowest depths of woe

Have mercy, Lord, on me

[ocr errors]

How blest is he who ne'er consents
How blest the man, whose conscious grief
How pleasant, how divinely fair
How good and pleasant must it be
How just and merciful is God
How good and pleasant are the lives

Let ev'ry heart, and ev'ry tongue
Let them who truly fear the Lord

Let ev'ry creature join

-

Lord, Thou hast been Thy children's God

Lift up your heads, eternal gates

Lift your voice, and thankful sing

Lord, in the morning Thou shalt hear

Lord, I have found 'tis good for me
Lord, if Thou the grace impart

My soul repeat His praise

My soul with patience waits

My ways, O Lord, to Thee are known
My God, my King, Thy various praise

O come, loud anthems let us sing
O God, how endless is Thy love
O God, to whom all creatures bow
O God, our hearts are firmly bent
O God, our help in ages past

O Lord, thy mercy, our sure hope
O Lord of Host, Thou God of Grace

O praise ye the Lord, prepare your glad voice
O render thanks, and bless the Lord

O render thanks to God above

O that the Lord would guide my ways
Our souls for help on God rely

Salvation is for ever nigh
Save me by Thy Almighty arm

The spacious firmament on high
The Lord my pasture shall prepare
The man is bless'd whose tender care
The Lord does them restore that fall
Think, mighty Lord, on feeble man
This is the day the Lord hath made
Through all the changing scenes of life
Thy mercies fill the earth, O Lord
Thy name, Almighty Lord

To celebrate Thy praise, O Lord
To Thee, O Lord, my God

-

[ocr errors]

To bless Thy chosen race, Hal.
To my complaint, O Lord, my God

When everwhelm'd with grief
When rising from the bed of death
With mercy, Lord, renew our hearts
With all my powers of heart and tongue
Who shall to Thy chosen seat

Ye boundless realms of joy
Ye people all, on earth who dwell
Ye people all, who serve the Lord
Ye righteous in the Lord rejoice

PSALMS.

HOW

PSALM I.-(Barnabas.)

"OW blest is he who n'er consents
By ill advice to walk:

Nor stands in sinner's ways, nor sits
Where men profanely talk.

2 Who makes the perfect law of God
His business and delight;
Devoutly reads therein by day,
And meditates by night.

3 Like some fair tree, which, fed by streams, With timely fruit does bend,

So he shall flourish; and success
Shall his designs attend.

4 For God approves the just man's ways,
To happiness they lead:

1

But sinners, and the paths they tread,
To ruin are decreed.

PSALM III.-(Banbury.)

PART II.

God, how endless is Thy Love!
Thy gifts are ev'ry ev'ning new,
And morning mercies from above,
Gently distil like early dew.
