And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundred-fold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Rom. vi, 23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. 2 Cor. iv, 17, 18. HELL. THE PLACE OF THE FINALLY WICKED. Ps. ix, 17. The wicked sha turned into hell, and all t tions that forget God. Ps. Iv, 15. Let death seiza op them, and let them go quick into hell: for wicked in their dwellings, and 12them. Ps. lxxxvi, 13. For great d mercy toward me; and they le delivered my soul from the bow hell. Ps. cxix, 155. Salvation from the wicked: for they s not thy statutes. Prov. vii, 27. Her house is way to hell, going down to chambers of death. Prov. ix, 18. But he now not that the dead are there, of beil. that her guests are in the depths Proc. xv, 24. The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. Isa, v, 14. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. Matth. xiii, 40-42. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this world. The son of man hall send forth his angels, and ey shall gather out of his kingall things that offend, and which do iniquity; And all cast them into a furnace of Are there shall be wailing and grashing of teeth. Matth. xxv, 30. And cast ye the profitable servant into outer Barkness: there shall be weeping ad gnashing of teeth. in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matth. vill, 12. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and guashing of teeth. Matth. xiii, 49, 50. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Luke xil, 46. The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. For a fire is ndled in mine anger, and shall Barn unto the lowest hell, and ad consume the earth with her Jucrease, and set on fire the foun dations of the mountains. Matth. v, 22. But I say unto you That whosoever is angry with his Brother without a cause shall be Luke xvi, 23, 24. And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried, and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 2 Thess. 1, 6-8. Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you: And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Heb. x, 31. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Rev. xiv, 9, 10, And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone and in the presence of the Lamb in the presence of the holy angels, Rev. xix, 19, 20. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. ITS MISERY ETERNAL. Isa. Ixvi. 24. And they shall go of the men that have transgressed forth, and look upon the carcases against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. Matth. xxv, 41. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. 2 Thess. 1, 9, 10. Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power, When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (because Rev. xiv, 11. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosover receiveth the mark of his name. Rev. xix, 3. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Mark ix, 43-48. And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched; Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched; Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye of fend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell-fire; Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 2 Cor. v, 11. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. IMAGERY. 2 Sam. xxii, 6. The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me. Ps. cxvi, 3. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Isa. xiv, 9, 10. Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? Isa. xxx, 33. For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep und large, the pile thereof is fire and much wood: the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it. Ezek. xxxi, 16, 17. I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth. They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen. Ezek. xxxil, 21, 27. The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone slain by the sword. down, they lie uncircumcised. And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war; and they have laid their swords under their heads; but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. 422 Jonah ii, 2. And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. opened the fourth seal, I heard Rev. vi, 7, 8. And when he had the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was Death. and hell followed with him: ant power was given unto them ove the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Rev. xx, 18-15. And the sea gara up the dead which were in it; a death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every ma according to their works.
