DOXOLOGIES.

I.

Now unto Him : That is able to do exceeding abundantly, above all that we can ask or think :

According to the power that worketh in us,

Unto Him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus: Throughout all

ages, world without end. Amen,

II.

Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good : For His mercy endureth for ever. Amen.

III.

Gloria in excelsis Deo; et in terra Pax; hominibus bonæ voluntatis.*

* Glory to God on high, on earth be peace,

And love towards men of love, salvation and release.

IV.

Now unto Him :
That is able to keep us from falling,

And to present us faultless before the presence of His glory:

With exceeding joy:
To the only wise God our Saviour:
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power :
Both now and for ever. Amen.

V.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, God only wise, be honour and glory, for ever and ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

VI.

Glory be to the Father: through the Son: in the Holy Spirit. Amen.

THE BOOK OF PSALMS.

First Day of the Month.

PSALM I.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly; nor standeth in the way of sinners: nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord: and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water; that bringeth forth his fruit in his season : his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment: nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

PSALM IV.

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

Oye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing?

But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness: and put your trust in the Lord.

There be many that say; Who will shew us any good ? Lord, lift thou up: the light of thy coun. tenance upon us.

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep : for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

PSALM VIII.

O Lord, our Lord ! how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength, because of thine enemies: that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
