Deliverance from Famine and Want.

Behold, the eye of the fear Him, upon them that deliver their souls from alive in famine.

Lord is upon them that hope in His mercy. To death, and to keep them Psalm xxxiii. 18, 19.

They shall not be ashamed in the evil time; and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. Psalm xxxvii. 19.

Which giveth food to the hungry. Psa. cxlvi. 7.

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I, the Lord will hear them, I, the God of Israel will not forsake them. Isaiah xli. 17.

I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen. Ezek. xxxvi. 29, 30.

Ask ye of the Lord rain, in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds; and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. Zech. x. I.

He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. Psalm cvii. 9.

Though the fig-tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stall; yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Hab. iii. 17, 18.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matt. iv. 4.

IV.-Deliverance from War and Enemies.

Deliverance from War.-The Lord your God is He that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you (Deut. xxiii. 14). Deut. xx. 4.

Through God we shall do valiantly, for He it is that shall tread down our enemies. Psalm lx. 12. Behold, God Himself is with us for our captain. 2 Chron. xiii. 12.

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. Prov. iii. 25, 26.

Behold all they that were incensed against thee, shall be ashamed and confounded; they shall be as nothing, and they that strive with thee shall perish; thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee; they that war against thee shall be as nothing and as a thing of nought. Isa. xli. II, 12.

I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord; and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid. For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword; but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee; because thou hast put thy trust in Me, saith the Lord. Jer. xxxix. 17, 18.

Deliverance from Enemies.-Fear not; for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 2 Kings vi. 16. Lord, it is nothing with Thee to help, whether with many or with them that have no power.

Deliverance from Enemies.

The Lord your God ye shall fear; and He shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. 2 Kings xvii. 39. Show Thy marvellous loving-kindness, O Thou that savest by Thy right hand, them which put their trust in Thee from those that rise up against them. Psalm xvii. 7.

In the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion, in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy, I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. Psalm xxvii. 5, 6.

The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him; the Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him. Psalm xxxvii. 32, 33, 40.

He preserveth the souls of His saints, He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalm xcvii. 10. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

Psalm cxii. 8. The Lord taketh my part with them that help me, therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate Psalm cxviii. 7. The rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous, lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. Psalm cxxv. 3.

They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the dwelling-place of the wicked shall come to nought. Job viii. 22.

When a man's ways please the Lord, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Prov. xvi. 7.

Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud, the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low. Isa. xxv. 5.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the

heritage of the servants of the Lord; and their righteousness is of Me, saith the Lord.

Whosoever shall

gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Isa. liv. 17, 15.

The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face; they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. Deut. xxviii. 7.

Shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Luke xviii. 7, 8.

I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee. Acts xviii. 10.

So that we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Heb. xiii. 6.

That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; that He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hands of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life. Luke i. 71, 74, 75.

Deliverance from Oppression.

V.-From Oppression and Injustice.

If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it to him by that the sun goeth down; for that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? And it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto Me, that I will hear, for I am gracious. Exodus xxii. 26, 27.

For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

Psalm xii. 5.

All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like unto Thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and needy from him that spoileth him? Psalm xxxv. 10.

He shall judge the poor of the people, He shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor. He shall redeem their soul

from deceit and violence; and precious shall their blood be in His sight. Psalm 1xxii. 4, 14.

He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

Psalm cix. 31.

Which executeth judgment for the oppressed. Psalm cxlvi. 7.

If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter; for He that is higher than the highest regardeth, and there be higher than they. Eccles. v. 8.

In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near thee. Isa. liv. 14.
