None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him. Ezek. xxxiii. 16.

Of Backslidings.-Return, thou backsliding Israel ! saith the Lord, and I will not cause Mine anger to fall upon you. Return, ye backsliding children; and I will heal your backslidings. Jer. iii. 12, 22. I will heal their backslidings, I will love them freely. Hosea xiv. 4.

Pardon through Christ.-He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isa. liii. 5, 6.

In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness. Zech. xiii. I.

He shall save His people from their sins.

Matt. i. 21. Through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins. Acts xiii. 38.

In whom we have redemption, through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Who gave Himself for our sins.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 1 Tim. i. 15.

Reconciliation.

He hath appeared to put away sin, by the sacrifice of Himself. Christ was once offered to bear the sins Heb. ix. 26, 28. By one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Heb. x. 14.

The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John i. 29. This is My blood--which is shed for many, for the remission of sins. Matt. xxvi. 28.

The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John i. 7, 9.

If any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you, for His name's sake. I John ii. 1, 2, 12.

He was manifested to take away our sins.

I John iii. 5. Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter ii. 24.

That loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.

Rev. i. 5. Reconciliation.-Let him take hold of My strength; that he may make peace with Me, and he shall make peace with Me. Isa. xxvii. 5.

Heb. ii. 17.

Being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more being reconciled we shall be saved by His life. Rom. v. 9, 10.

All things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation: to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. 2 Cor. v. 18, 19.

Now in Christ Jesus ye who sometime were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby. And He came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. Eph. ii. 13-17.

You, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh, through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight; if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven. Col. i. 21-23.

III.-Adoption.

I am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. Jer. xxxi. 9.

Adoption

Doubtless Thou art our Father; though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: Thou, O Lord, art our Father, our Redeemer Thy name is from everlasting.

But now, O Lord, Thou art the clay, and Thou our potter work of Thine hand.

Isaiah lxiii. 16.

our Father; we are and we all are the Isaiah Ixiv. 8.

As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God; for ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father! Rom. viii. 14, 15.

And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not My people, there shall they be called the children of the living God. Rom. ix. 26.

I will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Cor. vi. 18. Ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Gal. iii. 26. God sent forth His Son--to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son then an heir of God, through Christ. Gal. iv. 4, 5, 7.

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children, by Jesus Christ, to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved. Eph. i. 5, 6.

As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.

John i. 12.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath be stowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God. Beloved, now are we the sons of God.

I John iii. I, 2.

IV.-Union and Communion with the Church.

Ye are come unto Mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the first-born, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Heb. xii. 22-24.

For we are the circumcision which worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus.

Phil. iii. 3.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Jesus Christ. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Gal. iii. 28, 29.

Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.-Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Gal. iv. 26, 28.

That which we have seen and heard declare we

unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. I John i. 3.

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world; but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometime were afar off are made nigh by the blood
