The poems from page 208 to the end of this volume have been added to the contents of the English edition. This volume of Mrs. Hemans's works, and that lately published, comprise those of her writings, which have excited the greatest attention and the strongest interest; with the exception of the poems which it is presumed will appear as collected by herself, in her expected volume, entitled "Records of Woman." This it is the intention of the present editor to republish, immediately upon its appearance.

The first two titlepages in this volume have been given for the convenience of those who may procure a complete set of the American edition of her works, by the present editor.
