PRAISE THE LORD.

1 FROM all that dwell below the skies,
Let the Creator's praise arise;
Let the Redeemer's name be sung
Through every land, by every tongue.
2 Eternal are Thy mercies, Lord,
Eternal truth attends Thy word;

Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,
Till suns shall rise and set no more.

YOUNG DISCIPLES.

1 LORD, a little band and lowly,
We are come to sing to Thee;
Thou art great, and high, and holy,
how solemn we should be!

Oh

2 Fill our hearts with thoughts of Jesus, And of heaven where He is gone;

And let nothing ever please us

He would grieve to look upon.

3 For we know the Lord of glory Always sees what children do, And is writing now the story

Of our thoughts and actions too.

4 Let our sins be all forgiven;

Make us fear whate'er is wrong;

Lead us on our way to heaven,

There to sing a nobler

song.

THE NARROW WAY.

1 THERE is a path that leads to GodAll others go astray;

Narrow, but pleasant is the road,

And Christians love the way.

2 It leads straight through this world of sin,
And dangers must be pass'd;
But those who boldly walk therein
Will get to heaven at last.
3 How shall an infant pilgrim dare
This dang'rous path to tread?
For on the way is many a snare
For youthful travellers spread:

4 While the broad road, where thousands go,
Lies near, and opens
fair;

And many turn aside, I know,

To walk with sinners there.

5 But, lest my feeble steps should slide,
Or wander from Thy way,
Lord, condescend to be my guide,
And I shall never stray.

THE HAPPY LAND.

1 0 HAPPY land! O happy land!
Where saints and angels dwell;

We long to join that glorious band,
And all their anthems swell.

But ev'ry voice in yonder throng
On earth has breathed a prayer;
No lips untaught may join that song,

Or learn the music there.

2 Thou heavenly Friend! thou heavenly Friend!
O hear us when we pray;
Now let Thy pard'ning grace descend,
And take our sins away.

Be all our fresh, our youthful days.
To Thy blest service given;
Then we shall meet to sing Thy praise,
A ransom❜d band in heaven.

THE LAND OF PROMISE.

10 HASTE away, my brethren dear,
And come to Canaan's shore,
We'll meet and sing for ever there,
When all our toils are o'er.

O, that will be joyful, joyful, joyful!
O, that will be joyful,

To meet to part no more!
To meet to part no more,
On Canaan's happy shore!
And there sing hallelujah
With the friends who have

gone before.

2 How sweet to hear the hallow'd theme
That saints shall ever sing;
To hear their voices all proclaim
Salvation to the King.

O, that will be, &c.

3 Around His throne, all clothed in white,
Will all His saints appear;
And, shining in His glory bright,
Will see our Saviour there.
O, that will be, &c.

4 Through one eternal day we'll sing,
And bless His sacred name,

With hallelujah to the King,
And worthy is the Lamb.
O, that will be, &c.

COME TO JESUS.

1 I HEARD the voice of Jesus say,
Come unto me and rest;

Lay down, thou weary one, lay down
Thy head upon my breast.

I came to Jesus as I was,

Weary, and worn, and sad;

I found in Him a resting-place,
And He has made me glad.

2 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
Behold I freely give

The living water, thirsty one,—
Stoop down, and drink, and live.
I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that life-giving stream;
My thirst was quench'd, my soul revived,
And now I live in Him.

3 I heard the voice of Jesus say,
I am this dark world's light;
Look unto me,-thy morn shall rise,
And all thy day be bright.

I look'd to Jesus, and I found

In Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that Light of Life I'll walk,
Till trav❜ling days are done.

TRUST IN GOD.

1 POOR and needy though I be,
God Almighty cares for me;
Gives me clothing, shelter, food,
Gives me all I have of good.

2 He will hear me when I pray,
He is with me night and day;
When I sleep and when I wake,
For the Lord my Saviour's sake.
