Fixt they serve their Master's Will ! No one knows what they can do,

Nor what Strength their Breast doth fill. 4 Still in the inner Man

Converse with him they can:
Howfoe'er their Hand's employ'd
In Earth's Drudgeries below,
They in Spirit at the Side
Of their Saviour loving go.

5 More yet their wondrous Way Shines to the perfect Day: Difengag'd from Trifles here,

Up He holds their Hearts to Him
While his Blood goes on more clear
From redeeming to redeem!
6 Ever before their Eyes

The Lamb once flaughter'd lies:
Mighty Virtue comes from thence
To perform that Lamb's whole Will;
Pain t'affwage, and Sin to cleanfe,
And quell all the Pow'r of Ill.

OW happy is the Heart,
That puts its Truft in Thee!

Tis found in ev'ry Part,
From all Difeafes free:

It needs but crave Thy kind Support,

And o'er Life's Wave it walks unhurt.

Our former Thoughts we leve,

And new ones get by Grace; The Moment we believe,"

Into Faith's World we pafs : Around us fprings, by Gofpel Light, A Face of Things more fair and bright. 3 Paffions no more torment

Our Souls with bitter Strife; To us, in Love, is fent

Whate'er we meet in Life :

'Tis Chrift we ferve, and His fure Care Will us preferve where'er we are.

4 We deeply pity then

Th' uneafy Lufts that burn

The Breafts of other Men;

But not to them return

We nothing lack, nor look behind,
And scorn to fhake with ev'ry Wind,

5 Since, Lord, we ne'er are well
But while we fee thy Light,
Never let Flesh or Hell

Remove it from our Sight':

Ne'er let us fall to Reas'nings blind, Which fo enthrall the faithlefs Mind.

OW happy we when Guilt is gone!
This alters all our Frame:

The fame Occafions ftill come on,
But we are not the fame.
What did before afflict us much,
What gave us anxious Care,
The faithful Breaft it cannot touch,
It can't, for Chrift is there.

2 Call'd are we to Fatigue and Toil
The Heart's at Reft beneath,
Chear'd hourly, as with fragrant Oil,
By Chrift's reviving Breath.
Are we thro' dangerous Paths to rove,
The Shades of Death to pafs?
Our Shield eternal is His Love,
Our Light His gracious Face.
3 Sick outwardly, or in Diftrefs.
We may be, 'tis confefs'd:
But the Believer ne'erthelefs

Will fmile, and fay he's blefs'd!
The World must wonder, and ev'n we
Admire that fecret Hand,

Which betwixt us and Mifery

Of ev'ry Kind doth ftand.
