17 Car c'est dans cet évangile que la justice de Dieu est révélée de foi en foi; selon qu'il est écrit: Le juste vivra par la foi.

18 Car la colère de Dieu se déclare du ciel contre toute l'impiété et l'injustice des hommes, qui suppriment la vérité injuste

ment.

19 Parceque ce qu'on peut connoître de Dieu a été manifesté parmi eux, Dieu le leur ayant manifesté.

20 Car les perfections invisibles de Dieu, savoir sa puissance éternelle et sa divinité, se voient comme à l'œil depuis la création du monde, quand on considère ses ouvrages; de sorte qu'ils sont inexcusables.

21 Parcequ'ayant connu Dieu, ils ne l'ont point glorifié comme Dieu, et ne lui ont point rendu graces; mais ils se sont égarés dans de vains raisonnemens, et leur coeur destitué d'intelligence a été rempli de ténèbres.

22 Se disant sages, ils sont devenus fous;

23 Et ils ont changé la gloire du Dieu incorruptible, en des images qui représentent l'homme corruptible, et des oiseaux, et des bêtes à quatre pieds, et des rep

tiles.

24 C'est pourquoi aussi Dieu les a livrés aux convoitises de leurs cœurs, et à l'impureté, en sorte qu'ils ont déshonoré euxmêmes leurs propres corps.

25 Eux qui ont changé la vérité de Dieu en des choses fausses, et qui ont adoré et servi la créature, au lieu du Créateur, qui est béni éternellement, Amen.

26 C'est pourquoi Dieu les a livrés à des passions infames; car les femmes parmi eux ont changé

out excuse.

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened:

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to tible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the

10 Mais la gloire, l'honneur, et la paix seront pour tout homme qui fait le bien; premièrement pour le Juif, et puis aussi pour le Grec;

11 Car Dieu n'a point égard à l'apparence des personnes.

12 Tous ceux qui auront péché sans avoir eu la loi, périront aussi sans être jugés par la loi; et tous ceux qui auront péché ayant la loi, seront jugés par la loi.

13 Car ce ne sont pas ceux qui écoutent la loi, qui sont justes devant Dieu; mais ce sont ceux qui observent la loi, qui seront justifiés.

3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart, treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath, and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

6 Who will render unto every man according to his deeds:

7 To them, who, by patient continuance in well doing, seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile :

10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile;

11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

12 For as many as have sinned without law, shall also perish without law and as many as have sinned in the law, shall be judged by the law;

:

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
