Glory to the King of Kings,
Peace on Earth, and Mercy mild,

CHRIST, the everlasting LORD,
Late in Time behold Him come,
Offspring of a Virgin's Womb.

Veil'd in Flesh, the Godhead fee,
Hail th' incarnate Deity!

Pleas'd as Man with Men t' appear,
JESUS, our Immnauel here !

V.

Hail the Heav'n born Prince of Peace!

Hail the Sun of Righteousness!

Light, and Life, and All he brings,
Ris'n with Healing in his Wings.

Mild he lays his Glory by,
Born that Man no more may die,
Born to raise the Sons of Earth,
Born to give them second Birth.

VII.

Come, Defire of Nations, come,
Fix in Us thy humble Home,

Rife, the Woman's Conqu'ring Seed,
Bruife in Us the Serpent's Head.

Now difplay thy faving Pow'r,,

Ruin'd Nature now restore;

Now in myftic Union join

Thine to Ours, and Ours to Thine.

Adam's Likeness, LORD, efface,

Stamp thy Image in its Place,

Second Adam from above,

Reinstate us in thy Love.

Let us Thee, tho' lot, regain,
Thee, the Life, the Inner Man:
O! to all thyself impart,
Form'd in each Believing Heart.

Mild He hines on all beneath, Piercing thro' the Shade of Death. Scatt'ring Error's wide-fpread Night, Kindling Darkness into Light.

IV.

Nations all, far off and near, Hafte to fee your GoD appear! Hafte, for Him your Hearts prepare, Meet Him manifefted there!

V.

There behold the Day fpring rife, Pouring Eye-fight on your Eyes, GOD in his own Light furvey, Shining to the perfect Day.

VI.

Sing, ye Morning ftars again, GOD defcends on Earth to reign, Deigns for Man his Life t' employ, Shout, ye Sons of God, for Joy!

HYMN for EASTER-DAY.

I.

HRIST, the LORD, is ris'n To day,"
Sons of Men and Angels fay,

Raife your Joys and Triumphs high,
Sing ye Heav'ns, and Earth reply.

II.

Love's Redeeming Work is done,
Fought the Fight, the Battle won
Lo! our Sun's Eclipfe is o'er,
Lo! he fets in Blood no more.

III.

Vain the Stone, the Watch, the Seal, CHRIST has burft the Gates of Hell;

Death in vain forbids his Rife:

CHRIST has open'd Paradise !

IV.

Lives again our glorious King, Where, O Death, is now thy Sting Dying once he All doth fave,

Where thy Victory, O Grave?

V.

Soar we now, where CHRIST has led ?

Following our exalted Head,

Made like Him, like Him we rise,

Ours the Cross-the Grave-the Skies!

VI.

What tho' once we perish'd All,

Partners in our Parent's Fall?
Second Life we All receive,
In our Heav'nly Adam live,

Ris'n with Him, we upward move, Still we feek the Things above,

Still purfue and kifs the Son,

Seated on his Father's Throne.

Scarce on Earth a Thought beftow,
Dead to all we leave below,

Heav'n our Aim, and lov'd Abode,
Hid our Life with CHRIST in GOD.

IX.

Hid; till CHRIST Our Life appear,

Glorious in his Members here:

Join'd to Him, we then fhall fhine

All Immortal, all Divine!

X.

Hail the LORD of Earth and Heav'n;
Praise to Thee by both be giv'n :
Thee we greet, triumphant now;
Hail the Refurrection 1 hou!

XI.

King of Glory, Soul of Blifs, Everlasting Life is this,

Thee to know, thy f'ow'r to prove,

Thus to fing, and thus to love!
