6 Amazing love! that yet will call,
And yet prolong our days

Our hearts, subdu'd by goodness, fall,TE
And weep, and love, and praise.

DR. DODDRIDGE.

SEARCHER of hearts, before thy face,
I all my soul display;

And, conscious of its innate arts,
Entreat thy strict survey. *

I any sin conceal,

Oh, let a ray of light divine

The secret guile reveal.

Wash out the accursed stain.

A wretched slave I lie,

Smite off my chains, and wake my soul
To light and liberty.

Be gentle pity given;

Hardness of Heart lamented. bul

1 LORD! shed a beam of heav'nly day
To melt this stubborn stone away;

Now thaw, with rays of love divine,
-This heart-this frozen heart of mine.
2 The rocks can rend; the earth can quake;
The seas can roar; the mountains shake;

Of feeling all things show some sign,.... But this unfeeling heart of mine. Sark 3 To hear the sorrows thou hast felt,

What but an adamant would melt!
.90 Goodness and wrath in vain combine
To move this stupid heart of mine.
4 But ONE can yet perform the deed;
That One in all his
grace I need ;-
Thy Spirit can from dross refine,

And melt this stubborn heart of mine.
5 Oh, Breath of Life, breathe on my soul!
On me let streams of mercy roll:
Now thaw, with rays of love divine,
This heart, this frozen heart of mine.

1 EXALTED Prince of Life! we own
The royal honours of thy throne;
'Tis fix'd by GoD's almighty hand,
And seraphs bow at thy command.
2 Exalted Saviour! we confess
The sovereign triumphs of thy grace;
Where beams of gentle radiance shine,
And temper majesty.divine.

3 Wide thy resistless sceptre sway,
Till all thine enemies obey:

Wide may thy cross its virtues prove,
And conquer millions by its love.

4 Mighty to vanquish and forgive!
Thine Israel shall repent and live!
And loud proclaim thy healing breath,

Which works their life who wrought thy death.
