And all the earth shall lear. 2 Grace first contriv'd the way To save rebellious man; Which drew the wondrous plan. To tread the heavenly road; While pressing on to God. And grace my soul to Jesus led; 'Tis grace subdues my lusts within. 3 'Tis grace that sweetens ev'ry cross, 'Tis grace supports in ev'ry loss; In Jesus' grace my soul is strong Grace is my hope and Christ my song: g?'is grace defends when danger's near; And 'tis by grace I persevere; Free grace is all they sing above. 5 Thus 'tis alone of grace I boast, And 'tis in grace alone 1 trust; For what's to come 'tis still the same. 6 Thro' endless years, of grace I'll sing, Adore and bless my heavenly king; L. Heb. x. 39. 1 NOT by the law of innocence Can Adam's sons arrive at heaven; New works can give us no pretence To have our ancient sing forgiven: Can make a wounded conscience whole! and faith alone, That flies to Christ, and saves the soul. 319. § Lord, I believe thy heavenly word! Fain would I have my soul renew'd: To have it pardon’d and subdu'd. Let guilt and death no longer reign; P.
