THE SOUNDS OF THE VOWELS IN THE OJEBWAY.

A long, as in May, day, navy, came, main.
E short, as in men, ned, wed, enemy.
EE long, as in deem, heed, seen, see.
I short, as in sin, pin, tin, in.

O short, as in on, top, sod, yonder.
00 long, as in noon, moon, spoon.
U short, as in tun, sun, number, under.

Y has the same sound as in the English-as in

yonder way.

ENGLISH HYMNS.

EXHORTING SINNERS TO RETURN TO GOD.

HYMN 1.

C. M.

O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise !
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of his grace!

2 My gracious Master, and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,

To spread through all the earth abroad
The honours of thy name.

3 Jesus! the name that charms our fears,

That bids our sorrows cease;

'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
'Tis life, and health, and peace.

4 He breaks the power of cancell❜d sin, He sets the pris❜ner free;
