we should feriously reflect upon thofe great and useful Truths which have that Day been delivered to us. We should confider the Importance of them, to excite our Industry and Diligence in attaining them, we should weigh the Excellency of them, that they may engage our Affections; we fhould reflect how neceffary they are to our Happiness, which will difcover our own Folly in having neglected them hitherto, and make us truly wife for the Time to come. When we have thus made them familiar to our Thoughts by Confideration, they will be ready at Hand for all the Uses and Purposes of a Chriftian Life: They will direct us in our Duty, when it becomes dubious or difficult, and always ftir us up by Way of Remembrance; they will make us ftedfaft and immoveable, always abounding in the Work of the Lord, fo that our Labour fhall not be in vain in the Lord.

A MORNING HYMN.

I.

AWAKE, my Soul, and with the Sun,
Thy daily Stage of Duty run;
Shake off dull Sloth, and early rife
To pay thy Morning Sacrifice.

Redeem

II.

Redeem thy mif-fpent Time that's paft;
Live this Day, as if 'twere thy lafi :
T'improve thy Talents take due Care;
'Gainft the great Day thyfelf prepare.

III.

Let all thy Converfe be fincere,
Thy Confcience as the Noon-day clear:
Think how th'all-feeing God thy Ways,
And all thy fecret Thoughts furveys.

IV.

Wake, and lift up thyfelf, my Heart,
And with the Angels bear thy Part;
Who all Night long unwearied fing
Glory to Thee, Eternal King.

V.

Awake, awake ye heav'nly Choir;
May your Devotion me inspire:
That I like you my Age may fpend;
Like you may on my God attend.

VI.

May I like you in God delight;
Have all Day long my God in Sight;
Perform like you my Maker's Will:
O! may I never more do Ill.

GLORY to Thee, my God, this Night,
For all the Bleffings of the Light:
Keep, O keep me, King of Kings,
Under thy own Almighty Wings.

II.

Forgive, me Lord, for thy dear Son,
The Ills that I this Day have done;
That with the World, myself, and Thee,
I; ere I fleep, at Peace may be.

III.

Teach me to live, that I may dread
The Grave as little as my Bed;
Teach me to die, that fo I may
Triumphing rife at the laft Day.

IV.

O may my Soul on Thee repofe,

And with sweet Sleep mine Eyelids close:
Sleep, that may me more vig'rous make,
To ferve my God, when I awake.
