A Morning

A Morning Prayer for a Child.

GLORY be to Thee, O Lord, for all the Bleffings I daily receive from Thee; for thy particular Prefervation and Refreshment of me this Night paft, but above all, for thy infinite Love in redeeming me by the precious Blood of thy Son Jefus Chrift.

Teach me to believe in Thee, to fear Thee, and to love Thee with all my Heart; to worship Thee, and to give Thee Thanks; to honour thy holy Name, and to ferve Thee truly all the Days of my Life.

Make me to love my Neighbour as myfelf; and to do unto all Men, as I would they should do to me; make me obedient to my Parents, and to all my Governors in Church and State.

I

Grant, O Lord, that I may order myfelf lowly and reverently to all my Betters; that may hurt no Body by Word or Deed; that I may keep my Hands from Picking and Stealing, and my Tongue from Evil-speaking, Lying and Slandering; that I may demean myself with Temperance, Sobriety, and Chaftity; that I may never covet or defire other Men's Goods, but learn and labour truly to get my own Living, and to do my Duty in that State of Life to which it fhall please Thee, O Lord, to call me. And all

this

this I beg for the Merits of Jefus Chrift my Saviour; in whofe holy Words I fum up all my Wants; faying,

OUR Father which art in Heaven; Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in Earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this Day our daily Bread. And forgive us our Trefpaffes, as we forgive them that trefpass against us. And lead us not into Temptation; but deliver us from Evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

THE Grace of our Lord Jefus Chrift, the Love of God, and the Fellowship of the Holy Ghoft, be with me this Day, henceforth, and for evermore. Amen.

An Evening Prayer for a Child.

O LORD GOD, my heavenly Father, I do moft humbly implore the Pardon and Forgiveness of all my Sins, especially of those I have committed this Day, either in Thought, Word, or Deed, for the Sake of thy Son Jefus Chrift. Cleanfe me from all my Wickednefs, ftrengthen my Weakness, that I may overcome all the Temptations that daily furround me.
