A general Thanksgiving.

ALL Honour and Praise be given to thee, O Lord God Almighty, for all thy Mercies and loving Kindneffes bestowed upon me, and for all thofe Bleffings I expect as the Effect of thy infinite Goodness.

I blefs and praife Thee for making me a rational Creature; that I was born within the Pale of the Chriftian Church, whereby I have enjoyed the Means of Grace, and received a Title to the everlasting Happiness of Heaven.

Bleffed be thy Name for preferving me from innumerable Accidents and Dangers through the whole Course of my Life, for Help and Succour in my Wants and Neceffities, for Relief and Comfort in all my Tribulations and Afflictions, for fparing me fo long, and giving me fo large a Time for Repentance.

But, above all, I praife and magnify thy holy Name, for the wonderful Work of our Redemption, for the perfect Pattern of our Saviour's

Saviour's Life, for the Excellency of his Doctrine, and for the meritorious Sufferings of his Death and Paffion.

I blefs and praise Thee for all the Gifts and Graces of thy holy Spirit; for those miraculous Powers whereby Chriftianity was propagated throughout the World; and for those Affiftances Chriftians have received in all Ages for the doing thy holy Will.

I blefs and praise Thee for the Sense and Knowledge I have had of my Duty towards Thee, and that I have been any Ways difpofed to love and ferve Thee; that I have been touched with the Folly and Mifery of tranfgreffing thy Laws; and that I have made ferious and ftrong Refolutions of conforming to them for the Time to come; and for the happy Opportunity thou haft this Day given me of approaching thy holy Table.

What fhall Frender unto the Lord for all the Benefits he has beftowed upon me? I will fhew forth his Praife, not only with my Lips but in my Life, by giving up myself to his Service, and by walking before him in Holinefs and Righteoufnefs all my Days. Amen. Amen.

PARDON, O God, thofe many Imperfections that have accompanied me in the Performance of this holy Duty; and grant that thofe Things which I have faithfully asked according to thy Will, may effectually be obtained to the Relief of my Neceffities, and to the setting forth of thy Glory, through Jefus Chrift my only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

A Prayer in our Retirement, after receiving the Holy Sacrament, which may be used as foon as we come Home, or be added to a Perfon's Evening Prayer.

WHAT Thanks can I return, O moft gracious God, unto thy divine Majefty, for the Opportunity thou haft this Day given me of approaching thy Altar; for the Senfe thou haft given me of my Duty, and for that Strength and Power whereby thou haft in fome Measure enabled me to perform it? I will praise and magnify thy great and glorious Name; and I will entirely devote myself to thy Service as long as I have any Being.

Bleffed be thy Name for thofe fresh Supplies of Grace I have received at the Holy Communion; grant that they may make me run the Way of thy Commandments with

Delight and Pleasure, that I may never any more faint, or droop, or tire in my Duty..

Bleffed be thy Name for those comfortable Affurances thou haft given me of Pardon and Forgiveness. Let this thy compaffionate Goodness, be a perpetual Obligation to Love and Gratitude: Let it put me upon my Guard, that I may watch over all my Ways, and do always that which is well-pleasing in thy Sight.

Bleffed be thy Name for that Peace and Quiet thou haft reftored to my Soul; for thofe Refolutions thou haft wrought in me to perfevere in thy Service to the End of my Days: Make them firm, vigorous, and conftant; and never let any finful Paffions any more ruffle and difcompofe my Mind.

Bleffed be thy Name for that Relish thou haft given me of fpiritual Delights, that Defire of poffeffing the eternal Inheritance: Let the Enjoyments of Senfe appear mean. and contemptible; and let not the Pleafures. of the World any more prevail upon me to tranfgrefs thy holy Laws.

Grant, O Lord, that I may walk worthy of these thy diftinguishing Mercies, and liveas becomes the Redeemed of the Lord; remain therefore, O Lord, and abide with me for ever; I fhall then be enabled to do thy Will in this Life, and thereby be qualified to partake of thy Glories to all Eternity in the next, through Jefus Chrift my only Lord d Saviour. Amen.

A Grace

A Grace before Meat.

WE acknowledge thy Goodness, O Lord, in making this Provifion for us: Pardon our Sins, which render us unworthy of these and all other thy Mercies: Bless us with a thankful Use of these thy Creatures; that they may never minifter to Luxury and Senfuality; but that we may be enabled, through the Strength of them, to do thee ali faithful Service, through Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

A Grace after Meat.

BLESSED and praised be thy holy Name, O Lord, for that Refreshment which we have at this Time received from the Use of thy good Creatures: Teach us to labour for the Meat that endureth to everlasting Life; that as we are maintained by thy Bounty, fo we may live to thy Praife, Honour, and Glory, through Jefus Christ our Lord. Amen.
