Preface.

AGREEABLY with the expressed wishes of several kind friends, the Author of the following Pieces is induced to publish them, in the hope that they will contribute, in some small degree, to promote the sobriety, comfort, and happiness of his fellow-creatures. To whatever extent this is accomplished he will rejoice.
