JUSTIFICATION. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John, i 9 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are John, il. 12. forgiven you for his name's sake. And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar Revelation, the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. And Revelation, After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and vii. 9, 13, 14. tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands. one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said And he said to me, These are they unto him, Sir, thou knowest. which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come Revelation, salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the xii. 10, 11. power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down which accused them before our God day and night. And they Revelation, xxii. 1-3. overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony: and they loved not their lives unto the death. And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse. XXVI. Sanctification. As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall | Ps. xvii. 15. be satisfied when I awake, with thy likeness. Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but Dan. xii. 10. the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. viii. 1-3. The word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying, Thus saith Zechariah, the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury. Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called, A city of truth; and The mountain of the Lord of hosts, The holy mountain. xiii. 8, 9. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. She shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Matt. i. 21. JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a John, iii. 1–6. ruler of the Jews: the same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit. And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily, I say unto you, Cxcept ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
