JUSTIFICATION.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John, i 9

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are John, il. 12. forgiven you for his name's sake.

Ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; 1 John, iii. 5. and in him is no sin.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth right- 1 John, iii. 7. eousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

And it is the This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there And there are three are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood and these three agree in one.

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.

Rev. v. 9.

vi. 9-11.

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar Revelation, the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

And

Revelation,

After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and vii. 9, 13, 14. tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands. one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said And he said to me, These are they unto him, Sir, thou knowest. which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come Revelation, salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the xii. 10, 11. power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down which accused them before our God day and night. And they

overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony: and they loved not their lives unto the

death.

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse.

Sanctification.

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall | Ps. xvii. 15. be satisfied when I awake, with thy likeness.

The King's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is Ps. xlv. 13. of wrought gold.

Create in me a clean heart, O God: and renew a right Ps. li. 10. spirit within me.

Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

S. S. iv. 7.

In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and Is. iv. 2–4. glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Jer. xxxi. 23.

Jeremiah, xxxi. 33, 34.

Jeremiah,

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The Lord bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

This shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord.

They shall be my people, and I will be their God: and I xxxii. 38-40. | will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

Ezekiel, xi. 19, 20.

Ezekiel,

I mill give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out xxxvi. 24-27. of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Ezekiel, xxxvii. 22, 23.

Daniel, xi. 32-35.

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all. Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to

them with flatteries. And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but Dan. xii. 10. the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

viii. 1-3.

The word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying, Thus saith Zechariah, the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury. Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called, A city of truth; and The mountain of the Lord of hosts, The holy mountain.

xiii. 8, 9.

And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, Zechariah, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they thall say, The Lord is my

God.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall Mal. iii. 2–4. stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap. And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and_purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

She shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Matt. i. 21. JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a John, iii. 1–6. ruler of the Jews: the same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.

And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily, I say unto you, Cxcept ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
