WHO

HO is as the christian great? Bought, and wafh'd with facred Crowns He fees beneath his feet, [blood, Soars aloft and walks with God.

2. Who is as the chriftian wife?

He his nought for all hath given,
Bought the pearl of greatest price,
Nobly barter'd earth for heaven.

3. Who is as the chriftian bleft?

He hath found the long'd-for ftone,
He is join'd to CHRIST his relt,
He and happiness are one.
Erth ard Heaven together meet,
Gifts, in Him and graces join,
Make the character compleat,
All immortal all divine.

5. Lo his cloathing is the Sun,
The bright Sun of righteoufnefs;
He hath put falvation on,
JESUS is the beauteous drefs,
6. Lo! He feeds on living bread,

Drinks the fountain from above,
Leans on JEsu's breaft his head,
Feafts for ever on his love!

Angels here his fervants are,

read for Him their golden wings;

To his throne of glory bear,
Seat Him by the king of kings.
8. Who fhall gain that heavenly height?
Who his Saviour's face fhall fee?
I who claim it in his right,
Christ who bought it all for me.

7HO fhall the LORD's elect condemn? 'Tis God that juftifies their fouls

And mercy, like a mighty ftream,

O'er all their fins divinely rolls.

2. Who fhall adjudge the faints to hell? 'Tis CHRIST that fuffer'd in their ftead; And, the falvation to fulfil,

Behold him rifing from the dead!

He lives, He lives, and fits above,
For ever interceding there;
Who fhall divide us from his love,
Or what should tempt us to despair?
4. Shall perfecution or diftrefs,

Famine, or fword, or nakedness;
He that hath lov'd us bears us thro',
And makes us more than conqu’rors too,
5. Faith hath an over-coming pow'r,
It triumphs in the dying hour;
CHRIST is our life, our joy our hope,
Nor can we fink with fuch a prop.

6. Not all that men on earth can do,
Nor Pow'rs on high, nor pow'rs below,
Shall caufe His mercy to remove,
Or wean our hearts from CHRIST our

Why waste I then my time, my peace, To hoard for years to come?

WHY

'Tis but the voice that Jesus fends

To call them to his arms.

As faft as time can move?

Nor would we wish the hours more flow
To keep us from our love.

Their bodies to the tomb?

There the dear fieth of Jesus lay,
And left a long perfume.

4. The graves of all his faints He bleft,
And foften'd every bed;
Where should the dying members reft,
But with the dying head?
'Thonce he arose, afcending high,
Ard fhew'd our feet the way;

Up to the LORD our flesh fhall fly
At the great rifing day.

6. Then let the laft loud trumpet found,
And bid our kindred rise;
Awake ye Nations under ground!

Ye Saints, afcend the skies.

CCCLXXX. The Witneffing and Sealing Spirit.

I. HY fhould the children of a king

WHY Go mourning all their days?

Great COMFORTER, defcend and bring
Some tokens of thy grace!

2. Doft Thou not dwell in all the faints,
And feal the heirs of heav'n?
When wilt Thou banifh my complaints,
And fhow my fins forgiv'n?
Affure my confcience of her part
In the Redeemer's blood;

And bear thy witnefs with my heart,
That I am born of GoD.

4. Thou art the earneft of his love,
The pledge of joys to come:
And thy foft wings, celeftial dove,
Will fafe convey me home.

2. The pains, the groans, and dying ftrife
Fright our approaching fouls away;
Still we fhrink back again to life,
Fond of our prison and our clay..

4. Jesus, can make a dying bed
