The earth with its store Of wonders untold, Almighty! Thy power Hath founded of old; Hath stablished it fast, By a changeless degree, And round it hath cast, Like a mantle, the sea.

Thy bountiful care

What tongue can recite? It breathes in the air,

It shines in the light; It streams from the hills,

It descends to the plain, And sweetly distils

In the dew and the rain.

Frail children of dust,
And feeble as frail,

In Thee do we trust,

Nor find Thee to fail : Thy mercies how tender, How firm to the end, Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

Fight the good fight of faith.

FT in danger, oft in woe,

OFT

Onward, Christians, onward go!
Fight the fight, maintain the strife,
Strengthened with the bread of life.

Onward, Christians! onward go!
Join the war and face the foe.
Will ye flee in danger's hour?
Know ye not your Captain's power?

Let your drooping hearts be glad;
March in heavenly armour clad;
Fight, nor think the battle long,
Soon shall victory tune your song.

Let not sorrow dim your eye,
Soon shall every tear be dry;
Let not fears your course impede ;
Great your strength, if great your need.

Onward, then, in battle move!
More than conquerors ye shall
Though beset by many a foe,
Christian soldiers, onward go!

PLEAS

Psalm lxxxiv.

LEASANT are Thy courts above,
In the land of light and love;

Pleasant are Thy courts below,
In this land of sin and woe.

O my spirit longs and faints.
For the converse of Thy saints,
For the brightness of Thy face,
For Thy fulness, God of grace!

Happy birds, that sing and fly
Round Thy altars, O Most High!
Happier souls, that find a rest
In a Heavenly Father's breast!

Happy souls! their praises flow
Even in this vale of woe;
Waters in the desert rise,

Manna feeds them from the skies.

On they go from strength to strength,
Till they reach Thy throne at length,
At Thy feet adoring fall,

Who hast led them safe through all.

Lord, be mine this prize to win!
Guide me through a world of sin :
Grace and glory flow from Thee;
Shower, O shower them, Lord, on me!

7's.

PRAISE

[blocks in formation]

RAISE, my soul, the King of heaven,
To His feet thy tribute bring!

Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Who like Thee His praise should sing?
Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise the Everlasting King.

Father-like, He tends and spares us;
Well our feeble frame He knows;
In His hands He gently bears us;
Rescues us from all our foes.

Praise Him! Praise Him!
Widely as His mercy flows!

Angels, help us to adore Him,

Ye behold Him face to face:
All His works bow down before Him,
Through the boundless realms of space!
Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise with us the God of grace!

128 Let everything that hath breath praise the

Lord.

PRAISE the Lord, His glories show,

within His courts below,

Angels round His throne above,
All that see and share His love.

7's.

Earth to heaven, and heaven to earth,
Tell His wonders, sing His worth;
Age to age, and shore to shore,
Praise Him, praise Him evermore.

Praise the Lord, His mercies trace;
Praise His providence and grace,
All that He for man hath done,
All He sends us through His Son.

Strings and voices, hands and hearts,
In the concert bear your parts;
All that breathe, your Lord adore,
Praise Him, praise Him evermore.

129 0 praise the Lord of heaven, praise Him
in the heights.

PRAISE

8-7.

RAISE the Lord! ye heavens, adore Him!
Praise Him, angels, in the height:

Sun and moon, rejoice before Him;
Praise Him, all ye stars and light:
Praise the Lord, for He hath spoken;
Worlds His mighty voice obeyed;
Laws, which never shall be broken,
For their guidance He hath made.

Praise the Lord, for He is glorious;
Never shall His promise fail;
God hath made His saints victorious,

Sin and death shall not prevail:
