Still for us He intercedes,

His atoning blood He pleads;
For His saints prepares a place,

He, the first-fruits of our race. Alleluia!

Lord, though parted from our sight,
Far above the starry height;

Raise our hearts to Thine abode,

Grant us life with Thee in God. Alleluia !

O

Psalm xxiv.

UR Lord is risen from the dead;
Our Saviour is gone up on high :
The powers of hell are captive led,
Dragged to the portals of the sky.

There His triumphant chariot waits,
And angels chant the solemn lay:
Lift up your heads, ye heavenly gates!
Ye everlasting doors, give way!

Loose all your bars of massy light,
And wide unfold the ethereal scene;
He claims these mansions as His right;
Receive the King of Glory in!

Who is the King of Glory? who?-
The Lord, that all His foes o'ercame;
The world, sin, death, and hell o'erthrew,
And Jesus is the Conqueror's name.

Lo! His triumphant chariot waits,
And angels chant the solemn lay:
Lift up your heads, ye heavenly gates!
Ye everlasting doors, give way!

Who is the King of Glory? who?-
The Lord, of glorious power possessed,
The King of saints and angels too,
God over all, for ever blest.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and, again
I say, Rejoice.

REJOICE, the Lord is King;

Your God and King adore;

Mortals, give thanks and sing,
And triumph evermore :

Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice.

Jesus the Saviour reigns,

The God of truth and love;
When He had purged our sins,
He took His seat above;

Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice.

His kingdom cannot fail;

He rules o'er earth and heaven;

The keys of death and hell

To Christ, the Lord, are given :
Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice.

T

He sits at God's right hand,
Till all His foes submit,
And bow to His command,

And fall beneath His feet:

Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice.

The Lord reigneth.

HE Lord is King! lift up your voice,
O earth, and all ye heavens rejoice!
From world to world the joy shall ring,
The Lord omnipotent is King.

Come, make your wants, your burdens known,
He will present them at the throne;
And angel-bands are waiting there,
His
messages of love to bear.

O when His wisdom can mistake,
His might decay, His love forsake,
Then may His children cease to sing,
The Lord omnipotent is King.

L.M.

One Lord, one empire, all secures ;
He reigns, and life and death are yours:
Through earth and heaven one song shall ring,
The Lord omnipotent is King!

Whitsuntide.

68 The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost.

COME

OME, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire,
And lighten with celestial fire;

Thou the anointing Spirit art,

Who dost Thy sevenfold gifts impart:
Thy blessed Unction from above
Is comfort, life, and fire of love;
Enable with perpetual light

The dulness of our blinded sight:
Anoint and cheer our soiled face
With the abundance of Thy grace:
Keep far our foes, give peace at home;
Where Thou art Guide, no ill can come.
Teach us to know the Father, Son,
And Thee of Both, to be but One;
That through the ages all along,
This-this may be our endless song:
Praise to Thy eternal merit,

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

The love of God is shed abroad in our
hearts by the Holy Ghost.

HOME, Holy Spirit, come,

COME,

Let Thy bright beams arise;
Dispel the sorrow from our minds,
The darkness from our eyes.
Revive our drooping faith,

Our doubts and fears remove,
And kindle in our breasts the flame
Of never-dying love.

'Tis Thine to cleanse the heart,
To sanctify the soul,

То fresh life on every part,

pour

And new-create the whole.

Dwell Thou within our heart,

Our minds from bondage free;

Then shall we know, and praise, and love
The Father, Son, and Thee.

70 Walking in the comfort of the Holy Ghost. 7's.

HOL

OLY SPIRIT from on high,
Bend on us a pitying eye;
Animate the drooping heart,
Bid the power of sin depart.

Light up every dark recess
Of our heart's ungodliness;
Show us every devious way,
Where our steps are gone astray.
