76 Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

E give immortal praise

WE

To God the Father's love,

For all our comforts here,

And better hopes above;

He sent His own
Eternal Son,

To die for sins

That man had done.

To God the Son belongs

Immortal glory too,
Who bought us with His blood
From everlasting woe.

And now He lives,

And now He reigns,

And sees the fruit

Of all His pains.

To God the Spirit's Name
Immortal worship give,
Whose new-creating power
Makes the dead sinner live.
His work completes
The great design,
And fills the soul

With joy divine.

Almighty God! to Thee
Be endless honour done,
The undivided Three,
And the mysterious One.
Where reason fails,

With all her powers,
There faith prevails,
And love adores.

General Hymns.

Psalm c.

LL people that on earth do dwell,

L.M.

Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;
Him serve with fear, His praise forth tell;
Come ye before Him and rejoice.

The Lord, ye know, is God indeed;
Without our aid He did us make :
We are His flock, He doth us feed,
And for His sheep He doth us take.
O enter then His gates with praise,
Approach with joy His courts unto,
Praise, laud, and bless His name always;
For it is seemly so to do.

For why?—the Lord our God is good,
His mercy is for ever sure;

His truth at all times firmly stood,
And shall from age to age endure.

78 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb.

A

Wake

WAKE, and sing the song

Of Moses and the Lamb.

every

heart and every tongue,
To praise the Saviour's Name.

Sing of His dying love;
Sing of His rising power;
Sing how He intercedes above,
For those whose sins He bore!

Ye pilgrims on the road
To Zion's city, sing;

Rejoice ye in the Lamb of God,
In Christ the eternal King.

Soon shall we hear Him say,
“Ye blessed children, come!"
Soon will He call us hence away
To our eternal home.

There shall each joyful tongue
His endless praise proclaim,
And sweeter voices swell the song
Of Moses and the Lamb.

S.M.

79 They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

AWAKE our souls! away our fears!

Let every trembling thought begone! Awake, and run the heavenly race, And put a cheerful courage on.

True, 'tis a strait and thorny road,
And mortal spirits tire and faint;
But they forget the mighty God

That feeds the strength of every saint.

From Thee, the ever-flowing spring,
Our souls shall drink a fresh supply;
While such as trust their native strength
Shall melt away, and droop, and die.

Swift as an eagle cuts the air,

We'll mount aloft to Thine abode; On wings of love our souls shall fly, Nor tire along the heavenly road.

Psalm c.

L.M.

OEFORE Jehovah's awful throne,

Know that the Lord is God alone,
He can create, and He destroy.

His sovereign power, without our aid,
Made us of clay, and formed us men;
And when like wandering sheep we strayed,
He brought us to His fold again.

We'll crowd Thy gates with thankful songs,
High as the heavens our voices raise;
And earth, with her ten thousand tongues,
Shall fill Thy courts with sounding praise.

Wide as the world is Thy command,
Vast as eternity Thy love;

Firm as a rock Thy truth shall stand,
When rolling years shall cease to move.

81 Mary hath chosen that good part, which
shall not be taken away from her.

ESET with snares on every hand,

BE

In life's uncertain path I stand:
Saviour Divine, diffuse Thy light,
To guide my doubtful footsteps right!

Engage this roving, treacherous heart,
To fix on Mary's better part;
To scorn the trifles of a day,
For joys that none can take away!

L.M.
