Then opened he their Understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures.
Mark xiii. 31. Heaven and Earth fall pass away, but my Word fall not pass away.
John xvii. 8, 20. I have given unto them the Words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
Neither prayed for these alone, but for them also which mall believe on me through their Word.

He is proud knowing nothing:

But be ye Doers of the Word, and not Hearers only, deceive ing your own felves.
For if any be a Hearer of the Word, and not a Doer, he is like to a Man beholding his natural Pace in a Glass:
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his Way, and straitway forzetteth what manner of Man he was.
But whoso looketh into the perfect Law of Liberty, and confinueth therein, he being not a forgetful Hearer, but á Doer of the Word, this Man fball be blessed in his Deed.
Luke vi. 47, 48. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my Sayings, and doth them, I will shew you to whom he is like.
He is like a Man which built an House, and digged deep, and laid the Foundation on a Rock: and when the Flood arose, the Stream beat vehemently upon that House, and could not make it : for it was founded upon a Rock.
Pr. i. 1, 2. Blessed is the Man that walketh not in the Counlel of the Ungodly, nor fandeth in the Way of Sinners, nor fitteth in the Seat of the Scornful.
But bis Delight is in the Law of the Lord, and in his Law doth he meditate Day and Night.

Rom. xvi. 25, 26, 27. Now to him that is of Power to ftablish you according to my Gospel, and the Preaching of Jesus Christ according to the Revelation of the Mystery which was kept secret since the World began.
But now is made manifeft, and by the Scriptures of the Prophets, according to the Commandment of the everlasting God, 'made known to all Nations for the Obedience of Faith.
To God only wise, be Glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
Lessed Lord, who haft caused all Holy Scriptures to be
wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them; that by Patience and Comfort of thy holy Word, we may embrace, and ever hold fast the blefsed Hope of everlafting Life, which thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus Chrift. Amen.
