REJOICE, the Lord is King; Your God and King adore: Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice; 2 Jesus, the Saviour, reigns The God of truth and love; Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice; 3 His kingdom can not fail— He rules o'er earth and heaven; Are to our Jesus given; 4 He sits at God's right hand II.4. 5 He all His foes shall quell, And all our sins destroy; Let every bosom swell With pure seraphic joy; Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice; 6 Rejoice in glorious hope, Jesus the Judge shall come, We soon shall hear the arch-angel's voice, 132. WESLEY. PRAISE ye Jehovah's name, Praise through His courts proclaim, Rise and adore! High o'er the heavens above, 2 Now let the trumpet raise Then let the harp be found, 3 While His high praise you sing, Which in my Saviour shine: I'd soar and touch the heavenly strings 2 I'd sing the precious blood He spilt, I'd sing His glorious righteousness, 3 I'd sing the characters He bears, In loftiest songs of sweetest praise Make all His glories known. 4 Well, the delightful day will come Then with my Saviour, brother, friend, Triumphant in His grace. MEDLEY. NOW let us join with hearts and tongues And emulate the angels' song! Yea, sinners may address their King, In songs which angels can not sing. 2 They praise the Lamb which once was slain; But we can add a higher strain, Not only say, "He suffered thus,” 3 Jesus who passed the angels by, 4 Our next of kin our Brother now, 5 But ah! how faint our praises rise; 6 O glorious hour! it comes with speed, 135. [ORTALS, awake, with angels join, 2 In heaven the rapt'rous song began, 3 Swift through the vast expanse it flew, The theme, the song, the joy was new, 'Twas more than heaven could hold. 4 Down through the portals of the sky, 5 With joy the chorus we'll repeat, Good will and peace are now complete, C. M. 6 Hail, Prince of Life! forever hail! 7 Hark! the cherubic armies shout, And Glory leads the song: Good will and peace are heard throughout The harmonious heavenly throng. MEDLEY. |
