verf. 2. Quum autem perfecift Deus die feptimo opus fuum quod fecerat, quie-vit ipfo die feptimo ab omni opere /uo quod fecerat. And on the feventh day God ended his work which he had made, and he rested on the feventh day from all his work which he had made.

Thefe are the generations of the heavens and of the earth, when they were created in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, Andevery plant of the field, before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field, before it grew: For the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 1404p:142

But there went up a mift from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the duft of the ground, and breathed into his noftrils the breath of life and man became a living foul. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. And the name of the second river is Gibon: the fame is it that compaffeth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel that is it which goeth toward the caft of Affyria and the fourth river is Euphrates. 7q3 p.172 Accipiens itaque Febova Deus hominem; collocavit ipfum in 15. horto Hedenis, ad colendum eum et ad cuftodiendum cum.
And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the den of Eden, to dreffe it, and to keep it.
16. Interdixitque Jeborvah Deus komini, dicendo, De fructu quidem omnis arboris hujus horti liberè comedes.

And the Lord God faid, It is not good that the man fhould be alone: I will make him an help meet for him.
19. Nam quum formavißet Jehova Deus è terrâ omnes bestias agri, omnefque volucres cæli, et adduxißet ad Adamum ut videret qui vocaret fingulas (etenim quocunque nomine vocavit illas Adam, animantem quamque; id nomen ejus eft.)
And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beaft
o the field, and every fowl of the ayr, and brought them !unto Adam, to fee what he would call them and what- foever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

And Adam gave names to all cattell, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field: but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21. Quapropter injecit Jehova Deus foporem altum in Adamum quo obdormivit et defumpta und de coftis ejus, inclufit carnem pro illa.
And the Lord God caused a deep fleep to fall upon Adam, and he flept: and he took one of his ribbs, and clo- fed fed up the flesh instead thereof.
21. Extruxitque Jehovah Deus ex costa illa, quam fumpferat de A- damo, mulierem: eamque adduxit ad Adamum.
And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, & brought her unto the man p.219 Tum dixit Adam, Hac demum vice adeft os ex oßibus meis, & 23. caro ex carne mea: hæc vocabitur vira, eò quòd hæc ex viro defumpta eft. And Adam faid, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh fhe fhall be called woman, be- cause she was taken out of man. P.222 Idcirco relicturus eft vir patrem fuum & matrem fuam: & ad- bærebit uxori fuæ, eruntque in carnem unam. Therefore fhall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one fefh.

And the eyes of them both were opened,and they knew that they were naked and they fewed fig-leaves to- gether, and made themselves aprons.
