1 STAND up, and bless the Lord,
Ye people of His choice;
Stand up, and bless the Lord your God,
With heart, and soul, and voice.

2 O for a living flame,

From His own altar brought,

To touch our lips, our minds inspire, And wing to heaven our thought!

3 God is our strength and song,
And His salvation ours;

Then be His love in Christ proclaimed,
With all our ransomed powers.

4 Stand up, and bless the Lord,
The Lord your God adore;

Stand up, and bless His glorious Name
Henceforth for evermore.

1 AWAKE, and sing the song
Of Moses and the Lamb;
Tune every heart and every tongue
To praise the Saviour's name.

2 Sing of His dying love;

Sing of His rising power;
Sing how He intercedes above
For those whose sins He bore.

3 Sing on your heavenly way,
Ye ransomed sinners, sing!
Sing on, rejoicing every day
In Christ, the eternal King.

4 Soon shall we hear Him say,

"Ye blessed children, come !"
Soon will He call us hence away,
To our eternal home.

Soon shall our raptured tongue
His endless praise proclaim;
And sweeter voices tune the song
Of Moses and the Lamb.

1 SOLDIERS of Christ, arise, And put your armor on,

Strong in the strength which God sup

plies
Through His eternal Son.

2 Far be Thine honor spread, And long Thy praise endure,

Till morning light and evening shade Shall be exchanged no more.

1 How beauteous are their feet Who stand on Zion's hill,

2 Grace first contrived the way
To save rebellious man;

And all the steps that grace display
Which drew the wondrous plan.

Who bring salvation on their tongues, 3 Grace led my roving feet

And words of peace reveal!

2 How charming is their voice! How sweet the tidings are!

66

Zion, behold thy Saviour-King, He reigns and triumphs here!"

3 How happy are our ears That hear this joyful sound,

To tread the heavenly road;
And new supplies each hour I meet,
While pressing on to God.

4 Grace all the work shall crown,
Through everlasting days;

It lays in heaven the topmost stone,
And well deserves the praise.

Which kings and prophets waited for, 234

And sought, but never found.

4 The watchmen join their voice,
And tuneful notes employ;
Jerusalem breaks forth in songs,
And deserts learn the joy.

5 The Lord makes bare His arm,
Through all the earth abroad;
Let every nation now behold
Their Saviour and their God.

1 WELCOME, Sweet day of rest,
That saw the Lord arise!
Welcome to this reviving breast,
And these rejoicing eyes!

2 The King Himself comes near,
And feasts His saints to-day;
Here may we sit and see Him here,
And love, and praise, and pray.

3 One day amidst the place
Where my dear God hath been,

Is sweeter than ten thousand days
Of pleasurable sin.

4 My willing soul would stay
In such a frame as this,
And sit and sing herself away
To everlasting bliss.

233

1 GRACE! 'tis a charming sound,
Harmonious to the ear!

Heaven with the echo shall resound,
And all the earth shall hear.

1 How charming is the place
Where my Redeemer-God
Unveils the beauties of His face,
And sheds His love abroad!

2 Here on the mercy-seat,
With radiant glory crowned,
Our joyful eyes behold Him sit
And smile on all around.

3 To Him our prayers and cries,
Our humble souls present;
He listens to our broken sighs,
And grants us every want.

4 Give me, O Lord, a place
Within Thy blest abode,
Among the children of Thy grace,
The servants of my God.
