1 0 My Soul, what means this sadness!
Wherefore art thou thus cast down!
Let thy grief be turned to gladness;
Bid thy restless fears begone;
Look to Jesus,

And rejoice in His dear name.

2 What though Satan's strong temptations

Vex and grieve thee day by day,

And thy sinful inclinations

Often fill thee with dismay;

Thou shalt conquer

4 Break the tempter's fatal power: Turn the stony heart to flesh; And begin from this good hɔui To revive Thy work afresh.

1 GUIDE me, O Thou great Jehovah Pilgrim through this barren land: I am weak, but Thou art mighty Hold me with Thy powerful hand, Bread of heaven!

Feed me till I want no more.

3 Though ten thousand ills beset thee
From without and from within,
Jesus saith He'll ne'er forget thee,
But will save from hell and sin;
He is faithful

To perform His gracious word.

4 Though distresses now attend thee,
And thou tread'st the thorny road,
His right hand shall still defend thee;
Soon He'll bring thee home to God;
Therefore praise Him,
Praise the great Redeemer's name.

1 SAVIOUR, visit Thy plantation,
Grant us, Lord, a gracious rain !
All will come to desolation,
Unless Thou return again;
Lord, revive us,

All our help must come from Thee!

2 Keep no longer at a distance,
Shine upon us from on high,
Lest for want of Thine assistance,
Every plant should droop and die.

3 Dearest Saviour, hasten hither,
Thou canst make them bloom again!
O permit them not to wither,
Let not all our hopes be vain.

Whence the healing streams do flow,
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through;
Strong Deliverer!

Be Thou still my strength and shield.
