My object when I began this work was not to write a book, but to publish, perhaps in tract form, a few thoughts on the subject of entire sanctification; especially on some points upon which my own mind had labored formerly. Instead of confining myself to my original plan, I have expanded the discussion to the dimensions here presented to the reader. I have confined myself, principally, to the discussion of those questions which have been either passed over entirely, or but briefly referred to by others.
