He spreads th' autumnal feast, And rides in wintry storms. Our graces tried by afflictions. Sing with a joyful noise ; With melody of sound record His honours, and your joys. « How terrible art thou ! " Or at thy feet they bow.” Will rebel mortals dare Provoke th' Eternal to the fight, And tempt that dreadful war ? Ye saints fulfil his praise ; And guides our doubtful ways. 5 Lord, thou hast prov'd our suff’ring souls, To make our graces shine : The metal to refine. We march at thy command ; Praise to God for hearing prayer. To that Almighty Pow'r, NOW Who heard the long requests I made In my distressful hour. 2 My lips and cheerful heart prepare To make his mercies known : Come, ye that fear my God, and hear The wonders, he hath done. I sought his heav'nly aid ; And death's eternal shade. 4 If sin lay cover'd in my heart, While pray’r employ'd my tongue, The Lord had shown me no regard, Nor I his praises sung. Hath set my spirit free ; PSALM 67. C. M. The prosperity of the nation, and increase of the church. 1 HINE on our land, Jehovah, shine, With beams of heav'nly grace ! Reveal thy pow'r thro' all our coasts, And show thy smiling face. 2 Here fix thy throne exalted high, And, here, our glory stand ; And, like a wall of guardian fire, Surround thy fav’rite land. 3 When shall thy name from shore to shore Sound all the earth abroad, Their Saviour and their God ! Sing loud with solemn voice ; Let thankful tongues exalt his praise, And thankful hearts rejoice. That sits enthron'd above, In justice and in love. And yield a full increase : With fruitfulness and peace. His choicest favours here; The vengeance and compassion of God. And put the troops of hell to flight : Before the rising tempest flies. His name Jehovah sounds on high ; And pris’ners see the light again ; Shall dwell in chains and darkness still. 5 Kingdoms and thrones to God belong; Crown him, ye nations, in your song: His wond'rous names and pow'rs rehearse ; His honours shall enrich your verse.
