5 My name from the palms of his hands
Eternity will not erase;
Impreft on his heart it remains
In marks of indelible grace.

6 Yes-I to the end fhall endure,
As fure as the earnest is giv❜n:
More happy, but not more secure,
The glorified spirits in heav'n.

Mercy.

I will fing of mercy and judgment. Pf. ci. 1.
Mercy fhall be built up for ever. Pf. lxxxix. 2.
According to his mercy he faved us. Tit. iii. 5.

I THY mercy, my God, is the theme of my fong,
The joy of my heart, and the boast of my tongue:
Thy free grace alone, from the first to the laft,
Has won my affections, and bound my foul fast.
2 Without thy sweet mercy I could not live here,
Sin foon would reduce me to utter despair:
But through thy free goodness my fpirits revive,
And he who first made me still keeps me alive.

my

fins:

3 Whene'er I mistake, thy kind mercy begins
Tomelt me, and then I can mourn for
And, led by the Spirit to Jefus's blood,
My forrows are dried, and my strength is renew'd.

4 Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart, Which wonders to feel its own hardnefs depart: Diffolv'd by thy funfhine, I fall to the ground, And weep to the praise of the mercy I've found. 5 Thy mercy in Jefus exempts me from hell; Of thy mercy I'll fing, of thy mercy I'll tell; 'Twas Jefus my friend, when he hung on the tree, Who open'd the channel of mercy for me. 6 Great Father of mercies, thy goodness I own, And the covenant love of thy crucified Son. All praife to the Spirit, whose whisper divine Seals mercy, and pardon, and righteoufnefs mine.

The Victory of the Crofs.

We fee Jefus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the fuffering of death, crowned with glory and honour. Heb. ii. 9.

-The fufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1 Pet. i. 12.

Having Spoiled principalities and powers, he made a Shew of them openly, triumphing over them. Coll.

ii. 15.

IHAIL, thou once defpifed Jefus!

Hail, thou Galilean King!

Who didft fuffer to release us;

Who didft free falvation bring.

2 Hail, thou glorious God and Saviour,
Who haft borne our fin and fhame;
By whofe merit we find favour;
Life is given through thy name!

3 Pafchal Lamb! by God appointed,
All our fins on thee were laid;
Our High Prieft thou waft anointed,
And haft full atonement made.

4 All our fins are now forgiven

Through the fhedding of thy blood: Open'd is the gate of heaven,

We thereby return to God.

5 Worship, honour, pow'r, and bleffing,
Christ is worthy to receive.
Loudeft praises, without ceafing,
Meet it is for us to give.

6 Hofts of angels-choirs of fpirits
Join in pure feraphic lays;
Join to fing our Jefu's merits;
Join to fhout Immanuel's praise.

The Sinner reconciled.

You that were alienated, and enemies in your mind, now hath he reconciled. Col. i. 21.

He that hath feen me hath feen the Father. Jo. xiv. 9. God

was in Chrift reconciling the world to himself. 2 Cor. v. 19.

LORD, we are met thy name to praise,

In whom alone we reft,

And worship at thy throne of grace;
By whom our fouls are bleft.

2 Jefus we praife, his name adore;
We own no other God

Than he, who fav'd us by his pow'r,
And bought us with his blood.

3 'Tis by the merit of his death
That justice smiles again;
'Tis by his interceding breath
The Spirit dwells with men.

4 'Till God in human shape we see
Our thoughts no comfort find;
The holy, juft, and facred Three
Are terrors to the mind.

5 But if Immanuel's face appears,
Our hope and joy begin;

His name forbids our flavifh fear,
His grace removes our fin.

6 While some on their own works rely,
And fome of wisdom boast,
We love th' incarnate myftery,
And there we fix our truft.

For the Lord's Prefence and Bleffing. God gave the increase. 1 Cor. iii. 7.

I am with you always, even unto the end. Matt. xxviii. 20.

If thy prefence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
Ex. xxxiii. 15.

I BELOVED Saviour! faithful Friend!
The joy of all thy crofs's train!

In mercy to our aid descend,

Or else we worship thee in vain. 2 In vain we meet to fing and pray,

3

If Chrift his influence withhold;
Our hearts remain as cold as clay,
'Till we our God by faith behold.
Here let us feel thy healing beams,
And view thy reconciled face;

Yea, prove thy prefence, in these means,
To bless a vile and helpless race.
