Unity of the Church,

ONE BODY, ONE SPIRIT, ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM.

The communion of the body of Chrift. 1 Cor. x. 16, 172

One bread and one body. 1 Cor. x. 17.

The body is one, and hath many members: and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body-fo alfo is Chrift. 1 Cor. xii, 12,

OH may the Spirit now impart

God's faving grace to ev'ry heart!
Now may we all with one accord
Partake this fupper of our Lord!

2 For finners fee this table spread!
The finner's friend is at the head:
He fays, My body is the bread;
The wine my blood for finners fhed.
3 Baptized into Jefu's death,

We own one God, one Lord, one faith i
One body too, and Spirit one,

We own-the Father and the Son.

Ran to his garment's loweft feam;
So may we now that unction prove,

We meet around the board:

Dear Jefus, blefs the wine and bread;

And heav'nly life afford.

O may the Lord appear

With looks divinely mild,

And whisper in each humble ear"I love thee well, my child !"

The Lord's Prefence sweetens the Feaft.:

E eat the fupper of our Lord;

But Jefu's prefence crowns the board,

And makes the fav'ry meat:

When we by faith draw near to God,

And live on Jefu's flesh and blood,

This feaft indeed is fweet.

Spiritual Feaft.

Man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Deut. viii. 3.

He fent his word, and healed them. Pf. cvii. 20. We look not at the things which are feen, but at the things which are not feen. 2 Cor. iv. 18..

1 BREAD and wine we now receive, Symbols of our dying Lord:

Sinners, who in him believe,

In their hearts receive the word.

2 True believers (oh what wonder!)
Live upon immortal Food:
Where's the pow'r can ever funder
Souls united thus to God?

'Tis the fupper of the Lamb:

Sinners, come; ye need not fear: Saviour is the sweetest name

That can reach a finner's ear.

4 Needy beggars, at this table,

Are the welcome guests of God; Chrift can make the weakest able, Cleanfe the fouleft with his blood.

CHRISTIAN's heart is Chrift's abode;
A living temple of his God:

In fpirit he with Chrift is one;
Chrift dwells in him, and he in Chrift,
For into him he is baptized:

He lives by Christ, and Christ alone.

95. Eagles' Food.

Savour of death-or a favour of life. 2 Cor. ii. 16 Where the carcafe is the eagles will be gathered to gether. Matt. xxiv. 28.

Doth the eagle-. Job xxxix. 27—30.

* MY Jefus, crucify'd and flain,

Is loathed food, and flighted gain;
For moft men fpurn the holy feast,
Or pass it heedlefs by at least.

2 But, where the Saviour gives his light,
This carcafe is a pleasing fight:
He gives the foul an eagle's eye;
This carcafe draws the eagles nigh.

3 This banquet only fuits the poor;
And these on eagles' wings fhall foar-
Shall view the Lord who fuffer'd death,
And on his body feed by faith.

4 Upon this carcafe I would feed;
For, Lord, thy flesh is meat indeed!
I richly prize the feast divine;
For, Lord, thy blood is choicest wine!
