The Sacramental Indwelling.

The life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the SON of GOD.

LL praise and glory and thanksgiving be unto Thee, O Blessed LORD GOD, for the Sacrament of Thy Love, whereby Thou dwellest in Thy redeemed, and art their Life and Immortality.

By the grace which Thou hast given to me, grant me ever to cherish Thy godly motions, to attend to Thy guidance, and -to listen to Thy secret whisperings, that neither in thought, nor word, nor work I offend Thee.

Let Thy Blessed Image be ever before me, to be copied in me, not by my own strength or skill, but by Thy SPIRIT which Thou dost give to them that ask Thee.

Let me share Thy Obedience by setting GOD always before me in all things; Thy Humility by putting others forward, and taking the last place myself; Thy Gentleness by bearing undeserved reproaches meekly; Thy Self-Sacrificing Love by

spending and being spent for others. Let me seek Thee in all my actions, in all my thoughts and desires; let me minister to Thee in Thy sick, Thy poor, Thy little ones. Let me find Thee in prayer, in penitence, in Sacraments of grace. Thus finding Thee, let me at last be found in Thee, and so bid me enter into the Joy of my LORD, exulting in His Presence, and satisfied with His Likeness, and filled for ever and ever with His Fulness, the Fulness of GOD. Amen.

I S. John v. 4.

HATSOEVER is born of GOD overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that JESUS is the SON of GOD? This is He that came by water and blood, even JESUS CHRIST; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the SPIRIT that beareth witness, because the SPIRIT is truth. For there are Three that bear record in heaven, the FATHER, the WORD, and the HOLY GHOST: and these Three are One. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood and these three agree in

one.

If we receive the witness of men,

the witness of GOD is greater for this is the witness of GOD, which He hath testified of His SON. He that believeth on the SON of GOD hath the witness in himself he that believeth not GOD hath made Him a liar, because he believeth not the record that GOD gave of His SON. And this is the record, that GOD hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His SON. He that hath the SON hath life; and he that hath not the SON hath not life.

PSALM CXXXVIII.

Confitebor tibi.

I WILL give thanks unto Thee, O LORD,

with my whole heart: even before the gods will I sing praise unto Thee.

I will worship toward Thy holy temple, and praise Thy Name, because of Thy loving-kindness and truth: for Thou hast magnified Thy Name, and Thy Word, above all things.

When I called upon Thee, Thou heardest me and enduedst my soul with much strength.

All the kings of the earth shall praise Thee, O LORD for they have heard the words of Thy mouth.

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD that great is the glory of the LORD.

For though the LORD be high, yet hath He respect unto the lowly: as for the proud, He beholdeth them afar off.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, yet shalt Thou refresh me: Thou shalt stretch forth Thy hand upon the furiousness of mine enemies, and Thy right hand shall save me.

The LORD shall make good His lovingkindness toward me yea, Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever; despise not then the works of Thine own hands.

Glory be to the FATHER, and to the SON and to the HOLY GHOST ;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

An Act of Praise.

Give thanks for a remembrance of His Holiness.

BLESSED art Thou, O LORD GOD,

FATHER, SON, and HOLY GHOST; yea, Blessed above all for ever and ever.

We praise Thee, and give thanks to Thee for Thy great glory! Thou alone art, and beside Thee is none other, fully satisfying the hearts which Thou hast created for Thy Praise, Thyself the Light, the Joy, the Life, of them that seek Thee.

We thank Thee for Thy Creating, Redeeming, Sanctifying Love! overflowing the Universe with gladness, making it a temple meet for Thy Praise. Be Thou exalted, LORD, in Thine Own Strength, in all the manifold mysteries of nature and of grace; so will we sing and praise Thy Power. For this Thou hast made us, that we might bless Thy Name, and with our whole being glorify Thee; therefore we give thanks unto Thee, world without end.
