For Knowledge. good gifts, increase in me, I pray Thee, all pure and useful knowledge, and open my understanding day by day to a fuller and deeper apprehension of Thine Immutable Truth which Thou hast revealed to us by the Incarnation of Thy SON, CHRIST our LORD. HEAVENLY FATHER, Who with Thine Only-begotten SON givest us freely all things, that thereby we may freely glorify Thee; give me, I beseech Thee, a fervent zeal in Thy service, that day and night I may minister to Thee, offering in Thy Temple the oblation of myself with great gladness, alway giving praise to Thee, my GOD. Fill me with a glowing enthusiasm for all good and holy things, that I may never weary of toil, nor repine under trial, nor fail utterly in temptation. Let all my daily work be consecrate to Thee, that I may do all things to Thy Glory, that my whole heart, and mind, and soul being set upon the great things of eternity, I may live above all present cares, joying in the joy of Thy redeemed, and fulfilling according to Thy Will Thy Heart's desire for me, in JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen. Act of Joy. HENCEFORTH I will rejoice in the henceforth I will give Him a glad service, I will joy in Him Who is my only Joy. O my GOD, what a joy it is to love Thee! what joy to feel the length and breadth and depth of Thy Love shining in and around me! Joy in penitence, joy in sadness, joy in suffering, joy in loneli ness. Thou, O Blessed JESUS, art my Joy, in Thy Forgiving, Redeeming Love to my soul. O HOLY SPIRIT, Thou art my Joy springing forth from the Heart of the Divine Love into my heart. Henceforth I will rejoice in my LORD GOD, rejoice in doing His Will, rejoice in living for Him, rejoice in winning souls for Him, rejoice in yielding up my own broken being to be made whole by Him, to the praise and glory of His Holy Name. Strive, with GOD'S grace, to resist I. In thought, by earnest prayer. Endeavour to imitate JESUS Christ. I. His Obedience, in doing GOD'S Will. 2. His Humility, in bearing reproach. 3.
