Work continueth by the abiding of Thy SPIRIT in the Church.

I praise, I bless, I glorify Thee, O Holy TRINITY, for the Love wherewith Thou hast loved us. Let me shew forth Thy Praise in holiness of life, offering to Thee the Sacrifice of Righteousness, that my heart and mind and strength may render to Thee of Thine Own, and yield the fruits of Grace.

To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I might follow the blessed example of Him Who hath said, 'Be ye holy, for I am holy.' Verily it is enough for the disciple that he be as his Master.

Give me grace, O LORD JESU CHRIST, to follow Thee! Thou hast called me to the fellowship of Thy sufferings;-let me thank Thee for this token of Thy Love. Not in words nor in prayers alone, but in deed and in truth, let me follow in Thy steps and share Thy Crucifixion. Thou didst not spare Thyself;-let me not spare myself. Give me a generous, a noble, a loving heart, that I may spend it all in loving, and in living for, Thee. Amen.

PSALM IV. Cum invocarem.

Highteousness: Thou hast set me

EAR me when I call, O GOD of my

at liberty when I was in trouble; have

mercy upon me, and hearken unto my prayer.

O ye sons of men, how long will ye blaspheme Mine honour and have such pleasure in vanity, and seek after leasing?

Know this also, that the LORD hath chosen to Himself the man that is godly : when I call upon the LORD, He will hear

me.

Stand in awe and sin not

commune with your own heart, and in your chamber, and be still.

Offer the sacrifice of righteousness: and put your trust in the LORD.

There be many that say: Who will shew us any good?

LORD, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart: since the time that their corn, and wine, and oil increased.

I will lay me down in peace, and take my rest for it is Thou, LORD, only, that makest me dwell in safety.

Glory be to the FATHER, and to the SON and to the HOLY GHOST ;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.

Renewal.

He giveth Power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth Strength.

To saying, Come' unto

HOU speakest, O my SAVIOUR, unto

Me and I will refresh you.'

And the Refreshment which Thou givest is Thyself, the Living Bread from Heaven, the Life of them that believe, and the Resurrection of the dead,-which in the Eucharist Thou dost bestow to sustain our souls.

Here only need we seek that for which our heart panteth,-that which alone satisfieth, alone healeth, alone delighteth; where Thou dost give Thyself to purge away our stains, to transform our unloveliness, making us like unto Thyself.

Draw me therefore, Blessed LORD, as Thou hast said, unto Thyself. Grant me with the eye of the soul and of faith to behold Thee in the Mystery of Thy Redeeming Love, where at the Altar Thy Saving Passion intercedeth still for man.

B

There is seen Thy Humility, so marvellous that Angels may not know its wondrous depths; Thy Obedience, so salutary that it won for us Salvation; Thy Patience, so long-suffering that it waiteth yet for man; Thy Meekness, so eloquent that it pleads aloud to the FATHER still; Thy Purity, so radiant that the Heaven's bright sun before it pales; Thy Love, so pitiful that still it calls mankind its Own.

There is that most sure word of Thine fulfilled: I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto Me. Draw me, O Good JESU, unto Thyself, even me, that I may be healed.

Renew my strength; console my sorrows; pardon my sins. Conform me; transform me! By Thy Blessed Sacrament, LORD JESU, deliver me and save me. Amen.

PSALM XXIII. Dominus regit me.

THE

HE LORD is my Shepherd: therefore can I lack nothing.

He shall feed me in a green pasture: and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort.

He shall convert my soul and bring me forth in the paths of righteousness, for His Name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:

for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff comfort me.

Thou shalt prepare a table before me against them that trouble me : Thou hast anointed my head with oil, and my cup shall be full.

But Thy loving-kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Glory be to the FATHER, and to the SON and to the HOLY GHOST ;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.
