things and the rich He hath sent empty

away.

He remembering His mercy hath holpen His servant Israel as He promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed, for ever.

Glory be to the FATHER, and to the SON and to the HOLY GHOST;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.

MY GOD and my LORD, my Hope

MY and my Ly heart, Thou

hast commanded us by Thy SON, saying, 'Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.'

But what shall I ask of Thee more than I have already? For here at Thine Altar I have found a joy full, yea, more than full. The SON of Thy Love hath bidden me enter into the joy of my LORD, and that joy hath entered into me and made me glad.

Yet the good things which Thou hast prepared for us in the world to come, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered the heart of man to conceive in this life. Here, we do but see in part; there, face to face we shall behold, and shall know even as also we are known.

Then, too, we shall be like CHRIST, for

we shall see Him as He is. No longer, then, hidden beneath Sacramental veils shall we adore Him, but He will perfectly manifest Himself to us, and sweetly reveal all mysteries to His faithful people.

Until that Day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh and the hill of frankincense, the High Altar where the Church uplifts the Memorial of her SAVIOUR'S Death, until He come again.

Here let me day by day hold converse with my LORD, till I be transformed into His Likeness Who, being the Brightness of the FATHER'S Glory, and the express Image of His Person, is Fairest too of all the sons of men.

I pray Thee, O my LORD, that I may know Thee, love Thee, rejoice in Thee; and though I cannot fully, in this life, yet let me at least, by the virtue of Thy Blessed Sacrament, advance daily, until that which is perfect be mine.

Let Thy Knowledge here grow in me, and in the world to come be full. Let Thy Love grow here, and there be fulfilled that here my joy may in hope be great, and there indeed find true consummation.

;

For this let my soul hunger, my flesh thirst after, my whole substance long for, until Thou call me to enter into the Eternal Joy of my LORD, the Trinity

in Unity, GOD, blessed for evermore. Amen.

OW plenteous is Thy goodness, O LORD, which Thou hast secretly laid up for those that fear Thee!

When I call to mind, O LORD, with what devotion and affection some holy souls draw near to Thy Sacrament, then I am grieved and ashamed that I approach Thine Altar with so much coldness, that I remain so dry, and indevout and heartless, that I am not wholly inflamed in Thy Presence, O GOD, nor so tenderly affected as Thy Saints have been. For they, from excessive desire, and ardent feeling of love, were unable to restrain themselves from weeping. With all their hearts, and with their inmost being, they panted after Thee, O GOD, the Fountain of Life, the Nourishment and Refreshment of holy souls. Yea, so greatly did they desire Thee, that they were unable to satisfy their longings save by receiving and feeding upon Thy Sacred Body and Blood.

O truly ardent faith of theirs! existing as a credible proof of Thy Very Presence. For they really know their LORD in the Breaking of Bread whose hearts so mightily burn within them from the fact that JESUS walks with them.

Alas! such affection, such devotion, is very far from me.

Be merciful to me, O good JESUS, kind and gracious One; grant me such an increase of devotion as shall seem good in Thy sight for the needs of my soul; that my faith may be strengthened, my hope fortified, and my love more deeply kindled.

I know that Thy Mercy is able to give me the grace I desire, and to visit me with the spirit of devotion when the day of Thy good pleasure shall arrive.

For through Thy grace I desire to attain unto the beatitude of Thy most faithful lovers, and to be numbered with their holy company.

And Thou wilt do for me above what I can ask or think, more than I deserve or know how to desire.

THOU Blessed

hast now vouchsafed to come under my roof, I most humbly beseech Thee, leave me not, but abide with me for ever. Abide with me, LORD, in all I say, think, do, fear, hope, and enjoy. I fear my own unsteadfastness,-abide with me, LORD, for in Thee there is no change. I often despond, and fear I shall fall; abide with me, LORD, and make me to feel Thy near

ness. Be Thou my Refreshment in weariness; my Comfort in trouble; my Refuge in temptation; in death my Life; in judgment my Redeemer. Abide with me always, that I may abide in Thee, O good JESUS, Thou GOD of my Salvation.

Additional Devotions for use during the Divine Office will be found in Part III.

When all have communicated, the Minister shall return to the LORD'S Table, and reverently place upon it what remaineth of the Consecrated Elements, covering the same with a fair linen cloth.

Then shall the Priest say the LORD'S Prayer, the people repeating after him every Petition.

UR FATHER, Which art in heaven, Hal

lowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil : For Thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

After shall be said as followeth.

LORD and heavenly FATHER, we Thy humble servants entirely desire Thy fatherly goodness mercifully to accept this our sacrifice
