PSALM V.

A prayer in the name of the Church, when

he went early into the House of the Lord.

1. Hear my words, O Lord, and consider my meditation;

2. And listen to the voice of my cry, my King, and my God.

3. For it is to thee that I pray: O Lord, in the morning thou shalt hear my voice, and in the morning will I prepare myself, and appear before thee.

4. For thou art God, and hast no pleasure in wickedness the evil man shall not dwell with thee;

:

5. Nor shall the proud stand in thy sight: Thou hatest all them that deal falsely;

6. And thou shalt destroy all them that speak lies: the blood-shedding and deceitful man, shall the Lord abhor.

7. But I will enter thy house in the abundance of thy mercy, and I will worship in thy holy temple.

8. Lead me in thy fear, O Lord, and in thy righteousness; because of mine enemies, make thy way direct before me.

Ps. v. Ver. 3. Will I prepare myself, 1 direct my prayer unto thee,

10. Condemn them, O Lord, and let them fall through their own counsels; cast them out in the greatness of their iniquity, for they have provoked thee

to anger.

11. And let all them that hope in thee be glad in thee; they shall praise thee forever, and thou shalt dwell among them; let all them that love thy Name be strengthened in thee.

12. For thou shalt bless the righteous; O Lord, thou shalt cover me like an acceptable shield.
