For if we believe that Jefus died and rofe again, even fo them alfo which fleep in Jefus, will God bring with him. For this we fay unto you by word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them which are afleep. For the Lord himself fhall defcend from heaven with a fhout, with the voice of the Arch-angel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rife first Then we which are alive and remain, fhall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and fo fhall we ever be with the Lord. 2 Theff. i. 6,7. It is a righteous thing with God to recompence tribulation to them that trouble you; and to you who are troubled, reft with us, when the Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from heaven.-10. when he shall come to be glorified in his Saints, and to be admired of all them that believe in that day. 2 Tim. i. 18. The Lord grant unto him, that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day. iv. 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteoufnefs, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, fhall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing. Heb. ix. 28.-Christ was once offered to bear the fins of many; and unto them that look for him fhall he appear the second time, without fin, unto falvation. 1 Pet. iv. 13. - rejoice, in as much as ye are partakers of Christ's fufferings; that when his glory fhall be revealed, ye may be glad alfo with exceeding joy. v. 4.—when v.4. the chief Shepherd fhall appear, ye fhall receive a

crown of glory that fadeth not away. 1 John iii. 2: Now are we the Sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know, that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we fhall fee him as he is.

X. They, their Faith, Labours and Sufferings are loft, perished, unprofitable, if there be no ReSurrection:

John vi. 39, &c. as above, Sect. I: 1 Cor. xv.18. Then (i.e. if Chrift be not raised) they also which are fallen asleep in Chrift, are perished. 32. If after the manner of men I have fought with beafts at Ephefus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rife not? - 58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye ftedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forafmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. [This fuppofes all their Labour in the Lord would be in vain, if no Refurrection.] Therefore,

XI. The Refurrection is the grand Object of our Faith, Hope, and Comfort.

Acts xxiii. 6. Paul cried out and Refurrection of the Dead, I am called in queftion. xxiv. 15. I have hope towards God that there shall be a Refurrection of the Dead, both of the Juft and Unjuft. 1 Cor. i. 7,8. Ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the Coming of our Lord Jefus Chrift, who fhall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the Day of our Lord Jefus Chrift. 2 Cor. i. 9. But we had the fentence of Death in ourselves, that we should not truft in ourselves, but in God

which raifeth the Dead. iv.10. Always bearing about in the Body, the dying of the Lord Jefus, that the life alfo of Jefus might be made manifest in our Body. 14. Knowing, that he which raised up the Lord Jefus, fhall raise up us alfo by Jefus. Phil. iii. 11. If by any means I might attain unto the Resurrection of the Dead. Add 20, 21. as above Sect. XII. The Wicked will not be punished till the Refurrection.

Mat. vii. 22,23. Many will fay to me in that Day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have caft out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? and then will I profefs unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. X.15. -it fhall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha, in the Day of judgement, than for that City. Add xi. 22. xii. 36.every idle word that Men shall speak, they fhall give account thereof in the Day of Judgement. XXV. 41. Then fhall he fay alfo unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his Angels. - -46.-thefe fhall go away into everlasting punishment. Mar.viii. 38. Whofoever therefore fhall be afhamed of me, and of my words, - of him alfo fhall the Son of Man be ashamed when he cometh in the glory of the Father, with the holy Angels. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him : the word that I have spoken, the fame fhall judge him in the last day. Rom. ii. 5,6. But after thy hardnefs and impenitent heart, treasureft up unto thy felf wrath against the day of wrath, and revelation of the righteous judgement of God; who will render to every man according to his deeds. 2 Thef.i. 7,8,9. When the Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from Heaven - in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the Gofpel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who fhall be punished with everlasting deftruction from the prefence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. 2 Pet. ii. 9. The Lord knoweth how to referve the unjuft unto the day of Judgement to be punished. iii. 7. the Heavens and the Earth which are now, by the fame word are kept in ftore, reserved unto fire against the day of Judgement, and perdition of ungodly men. Jude 14, 15. Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his Saints; to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly commited, and of all their hard fpeeches, which ungodly finners have spoken against him.
