"Let them praise the Name of the Lord, for His Name only is excellent.”

PRAISE ye the Lord, prepare your glad

voice,

His praise in the great assembly to sing: In our great Creator let Israel rejoice,

And children of Zion be glad in their King. Let them His great Name extol in their songs, With well-tuned hearts His praises express; Who listens with pleasure to hear their glad tongues,

And waits with salvation the humble to bless.

With glory adorned, His people shall sing To God, Who their heads with safety doth shield;

Such honour and triumph His favour shall bring;

O therefore for ever all praise to Him yield !—AMEN.

"Awake, thou lute and harp; I myself will awake

right early."

THIS is the day the light was made,
That glorious gift of heaven ;

This is the day the Lord arose,

The best of all the seven.

This is the day the darkness fled,

And death to life gave way;
And evermore to light and life
God calls His saints this day.

Then wake, ye children of the light,
And hearken to His voice;
With early songs of praise draw nigh,
And in His courts rejoice.

So shall our souls, O Lord of life,
Thy gracious influence prove,
Enlightened by Thy Holy Word,
And quickened by Thy love.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
One God Whom we adore,

Be glory, as it was, is now,

And shall be evermore.-AMEN.

"Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Thy saints shout for joy."

LORD, in Thy temple now we meet;

Low on our knees before Thee bend: Here hast Thou fixed Thy mercy-seat; Here on Thy Sabbath we attend.

Arise into Thy resting-place,

Thou, and Thine ark of strength, O Lord!
Shine through the veil, we seek Thy face;
Speak, for we hearken to Thy word.

With righteousness Thy priests array;
Joyful Thy chosen people be;

Let those who teach and those who pray

Let all be holiness to Thee.-AMEN.

"I will arise, and go to my father."

Io's.

FATHER, again in Jesu's name we meet,
And bow in penitence before Thy feet;
Again to Thee our feeble voices raise,
To seek Thy mercy and to sing Thy praise.
Lord, we would bless Thee for Thy ceaseless

care,

And all Thy love from day to day declare;
Is, not our life with hourly mercies crowned ?
Does not Thine arm encircle us around?

Alas! unworthy of Thy boundless love,
Too oft with careless feet from Thee we rove;
But now, encouraged by Thy voice, we come,
Returning sinners to a Father's home.

O by that Name in Whom all fulness dwells,
O by that love which every love excels,
O by that blood so freely shed for sin,
Open blest Mercy's gate, and take us in!

"Thy way,

AMEN.

O God, is in the sanctuary."

COME to Thy temple, Lord,

COME

Thy waiting Church to bless :

Here let Thy glory be adored,

Give now Thy Word success.

Our inmost hearts refine,

And for Thyself prepare:

S.M.

Cast out all thoughts but thoughts Divine,

And reign triumphant there.

Thy servants, Lord, we are,
Baptized into Thy name:

All hurtful things put from us far,
All works of sin and shame.

Come to Thy temple, Lord,
Thine own assembly bless:
Thy faithful people save; and clothe
Thy priests with righteousness.

Jesu, eternal Son,

We praise Thee and adore,

Who art, with God the Father, One,

And Spirit evermore.

123

AMEN.

7's.

"How amiable are Thy tabernacles, O Lord

of hosts!"

PLEASANT are Thy courts above,
In the land of light and love;

Pleasant are Thy courts below,
In this land of sin and woe.

Oh, my spirit longs and faints
For the converse of Thy saints
For the brightness of Thy face,
King of glory, God of grace.
Happy souls! their praises flow
Ever in this vale of woe;
Waters in the desert rise,

Manna feeds them from the skies.

On they go from strength to strength,
Till they see Thy face at length;
At Thy feet adoring fall,

Who hast led them safe through all.

Lord, be mine this prize to win ;
Guide me through a world of sin;
Keep me by Thy saving grace,
Give me at Thy side a place.

Sun and Shield alike Thou art;
Guide and guard my erring heart;
Grace and glory flow from Thee,

Shower, O shower them, Lord, on me. AMEN.

"The Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath."

ORD of the Sabbath, Thee we praise

Lo

In concert with the blest;

Who, joyful, in harmonious lays

Employ an endless rest.

Thus, Lord, while we remember Thee,
In faith and hope we grow;

In hymns of praise we learn to be
Triumphant here below.

On this glad day a brighter scene
Of glory was displayed,

By God, the Eternal Word, than when
The universe was made.

He rises, Who our pardon bought

With grief and pain extreme;

'Twas great to speak the world from nought, 'Twas greater to redeem !

All glory to the Father be,

All glory to the Son;

All glory, Holy Ghost, to Thee,

While endless ages run.-AMEN.
