M. denotes COMMON MEASURE, the verses of which consist of four lines; the first and third containing eight syllables; the second and fourth, six syllables. 1. CHEERFUL AND LIVELY TUNES. Abingdon, Ashley†, Bellefield, Cambridge, Devizes, Gainsborough, Harrington, Howard, London New, Manchester, New York, Oxford, St. Anne's, St. George's, St. Stephen's, Warwick, Westminster New, Weston Favel, and Wiltshire.
