The Publifher fincerely thanks his numerous Sub
feribers, for their liberal encouragement of this Work,
which has far exceeded his molt fanguine expectations.
While he has, at a confiderable trouble and expence,
collected Old Manufcripts, and other materials on the
fubject, befides what were promifed in his Profpe&tus, and
by that means he has been enabled to make his Work more
complete, he has the fatisfaction to think, that the mot
of his Subfcribers will be well pleafed with the Work.
However, he is not of the opinion that his Book will
please every perfon, for that is what no Book has ever
yet done.
