2D 'III. Behold, on flying clouds he comes! While they that pierc'd him fadly mourn IV. These odours are the pray'rs of faints, these founds the hymns they raise; God bends his ear to their requests, he loves to hear their praise. IV. Who fhall the Father's record search, V. Hark! how th' adoring hofts above with fongs íurround the throne ; Ten thousand thousand are their tongues; but all their hearts are one. VI. Worthy the Lamb that died, they cry, to be exalted thus ; Worthy the Lamb, let us reply, for he was flain for us. VII. To him be pow'r divine afcrib'd, VIII. Thou haft redeem'd us with thy blood, and fet the pris❜ners free; Thou mad'ft us kings and priests to God, and we shall reign with thee. IX. From ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tongue, thou brought'ft thy chofen race; And diftant lands and ifles have fhar'd the riches of thy grace. X. Let all that dwell above the fky, or on the earth below, With fields, and floods, and ocean's fhores, to thee their homage fhow. XI. HOW bright thefe glorious spirits shine! whence all their white array? How came they to the blissful feats of everlasting day? II. Lo! thefe are they from fuff'rings great who came to realms of light, And in the blood of Chrift have wash'd those robes which fhine fo bright. III. Now, with triumphal palms, they stand before the throne on high, And ferve the God they love, amidst the glories of the sky. IV. His presence fills each heart with joy, tunes every mouth to fing; By day, by night, the facred courts with glad hofannahs ring. |
